TahmKench is related to Bilgewater. They've already said his legends is especially relevant there.

Maybe we'll see it in this expanded lore they're pumping out, but who knows?

Don't worry looks like they've got a new champ coming!

Looks pretty mean and grumpy.

Hmm... speaking of Bilgewater captains looks like Gangplank wandered off somewhere, anyone seen him around?

Tahm Kench, the gambler, is from Bilgewater. Tahm Kench, the demon, is from nowhere and everywhere.

Assuming there's 3 more champs to come this year, there might actually be a new champ revealed at the end of this event. Based on what we've gotten so far this year, I think the next champ may be an immobile ranged ap carry.

Yeah I thought about this too,but I think we would have heard about a new champ by now.

Maybe it is a bit like the Harrowing event last year? There were already hints about Kalista floating around during last years harrowing, with Kalista getting released after the event was already over.

No. The Bilgewater patch will have the MF and GP updates, as well as the 6 new skins, and 2 new game modes so that's kind of plenty of content for that.

Tahm actually is pretty Bilgewater centric

And in any case, there is the Gangplank Rework and MF VU

Well now that we've got a Gangplank login screen on the Pbe,it is rather likely that we won't get a new champ anymore.

However maybe the event will actually lead to a new champion? As in there are some hints for a new champ in this event and he/she will be the next one to be released.

I have two interesting quotes for this thread, one's Finn's (the new pirate/fisherman/'macho' shopkeeper from Butcher's Bridge's Red side), and the second is WAAARGHbobo's (a Writer at Riot), from Tahm Kench's Q&A:

Finn's quote is one of the quotes that he may say when you simply stand idle near the shop: "If you ever see her, you'll know why land's the place for you."

And the second one was a response from WAAARGHbobo to a question that was asked by The Gent Intent on Tahm Kench's Q&A:

The question:

[...] 2. With the new Bilgewater event, are we going to have some ray of hope for the island? Between the Shadow Isles and Kench wrecking everything that they hold dear, it seems that everyone there is up the creek without a paddle. Or anchor. Or Trident, and etc.

And WAAARGHbobo's response:

[...] 2. Things are going to get worse, much much worse.** Then, perhaps, a savior will arrive.**

-_-

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought we might get another champ pretty soon, and it's even cooler that it's likely to be a Bilgerat. :D

Well the Gankplank complete rework and Miss Fourtune rebalance and module update make up for not having a new champion.
