Rakan's supposed to be of a particular vastayan tribe, and as such has no ties to any form of human ethnicity, including ones that are actually Runeterran.

Your statement is potentially racist from the view of looking at black stereotypes. "Sounds like a black guy" isn't exactly the nicest thing one could say in regards to an individual person or black people, y'know?

He's actually from Ionia which is based on Asian countries like Japan, China and India. And black people on average tend to have deeper voices than other races. How is that racist? EDIT: And if you listen to their speaking you can notice differences. Them sounding different is not racism by definition. Racism has become a cliche and a joke, because people don't know what it means anymore.

He's not human though, and as such doesn't have a human ethnicity like Asian. His ethnicity is that of his tribe.

Is this an actual statistic? I'm not joking here I'd actually like to know.

But back to the matter at hand; "sounds like a black guy" implies a certain way of talking, such as mannerisms, tone and overall language that can come off as a tad stereotypical. That's why I said "potentially", as it depends on who would be affected by that kind of stereotype.

What I mean by him sounding like that is he has a strong Afro-American accent. Just like Viktor has a strong Russian accent. And Fiora French.

Well I haven't heard his voice, but to OP's defense a lot of black stars often adopt this black persona and way of talking, so I feel like saying "he's talking like a black person" is a good way of transmitting this information and making sure everyone knows what's being talked about. It's like saying "he's talking like an asian" where people would obviously be talking about the "typical" asian dialect.

That's fair enough, but at the time time it doesn't have the most positive connotations given the implications. I of course know what Op's talking about and I understand what he means, but that doesn't make it all that much better, especially for folks who might take offense to such a thing.

It's just one of those things where it just doesn't sit right. It's not awful and abhorent and blegh, but it's still awkward.

It isn't racist if there is no negative connotation and/or it's true/based on personal experience, regardless of whether that personal experience is true on a broad level or not. At worst, it's ignorant. Simple definitional argument.
