I do not work at riot but after reading both lores and watching the new Music Video i am sure that Amumu is just a Shuriman Prince who was cursed and died a young age. also if you see his Splash art he is making Human Figures (Longing for his parents and who he is), also he comes out of a coffin (Meaning very Important person in Egypt/Shurima) i hope this helps :D and rito if i am wrong then please correct me so i dont look like an idiot XD.

I appreciated them leaving it somewhat open. It's kind of adorable thinking of him as a lost little yordle from long ago. And even if it's just a suspicion he has (or others have) that proves to be wrong in the end, it provides a link to Bandle City. (Although if we take some of the recent stuff literally, he can't actually visit Bandle City without wrecking it.)

And keep in mind many people assume that Amumu is a yordle because one little boy said so when the storyteller was telling the story however, the storyteller never does give the nod of approval. now their are more clues stating that amumu is human than a yordle. but hey!! Untill riot makes their next move we wont know for sure. i wouldnt mind losing this debate because i am cureous. about amumus actual Past.

Newsflash: Wiki's are not a credible source and aren't taken seriously in schooling, business or any professional place as a distrubution of information.
Wiki's cannot be used for citation, you need an original source and as of yet, there is none. Riot is making metaphorically making fun of people you through versification of that random kid in the Amumu lore who randomly claims he was a Yordle while lacking credible evidence.
We don't know.
And knowing the lore team's track record in resolving mysteries we never will know.
quazymoodo2 votesIt's not confirmed or denied yet. When Amumu arrives in Bandle City at the end of the music video, the lyrics refer to it as "home".
Also, he could've been the first yordle in Shurima, and his exotic nature intrigued the Shuriman population, making him a figure of worship (/theory).
(....not to mention that his body type if fit for the shape of a grown yordle instead of a human 10-year old, as is speculated.)

GreenLore1 votesBecause Amumu was a yordle in the old lore and they are too lazy to change that now that it is ambigious(or fear that once they remove that part people will jump to the conclusion that he is not a yordle anymore).
It is also possible that the shopkeeper merely thinks that amumu is a yordle,since it is rather hard to see how he looks under all those bandages. Heck even amumu might think that he is yordle,even if he isn't one.

He was then changed to be a mummified yordle, I believe at the same time that trist and poppy were made yordles instead of their own race. And now the "new" lore heavily suggests that he's a mummified prince.
Caytheles1 votesOnly things saying he is a yordle is a little boy who is barely hearing the tale from a wiseman. nowhere else does it say he is a yordle... and how would a yordle be a high shuriman with his own burial sight.. i would say he was a relative of azir who was recreated when AZir ascended. the shockwave mustve ascended amumu aswell, only with the curse still intact. idk, i do hope the curse corrupts amumu making him some corrupt being who can even stand against Nasus Renekton, Azir, and even Xerath. been making some art on how it would look... so yummy
