Twitch's lore wasn't updated during the Zaun event

ChunLii··5 votes·2,260 views

The following Zaunite champions had their lore updated

Zac Ekko Janna Viktor Jinx Warwick Blitz Mundo

All twitch has

A plague rat by birth, a connoisseur of filth by passion, Twitch is a paranoid and mutated rat that walks upright and roots through the dregs of Zaun for treasures only he truly values. Armed with a chem-powered crossbow, Twitch is not afraid to get his paws dirty as he builds a throne of refuse in his kingdom of filth, endlessly plotting the downfall of humanity.

One paragraph, Riot pls. They won't go back to Zaun for some time so I guess twitch lore will probably not be expanded for years to come. Feelsbadman

Yeah... a glimpse behind the scenes... we worked on bios for Twitch and Singed as part of the Zaun event, but they didn't quite reach the quality bar we set for this kind of thing. So they were canceled, and we'll revisit in the future.

Boo. Boo Interlocutioner. Boo.

This is the kind of Riot crap I hate the most

I can be clearer if you don't like bad jokes, lol.

There isn't anything in the works quite yet. But we'll look for the earliest possible opportunity to get you something. We just want to do it right. Singed and Twitch deserve bios so awesome, you can practically taste the filth and potions.

Yes, I would very much prefer Riot to more straightforward, with just about everything. SoonTM is not a funny joke and it hasn't been in 5 years. And honestly it seems like a well that Lore/Narrative/whatever you are named these days goes back to far more than most Riot departments. Every other Lore post seems to be some sort of "oooh we are working on such a juicy storyline for this champ" and then nothing happens.

I very much agree that they deserve great bios. Every champ does. I just deeply doubt Riot's ability to produce those great bios in a reasonable time frame, given the narrative group's history on these matters.

I know this is likely out dated but in Twitch's Champion page Zac is listed as his friend and visa-versa on Zac's. Does Riot plan on expanding upon this or will they probably drop it. I myself can see why Twitch would like Zac (in-game taunt - "You remind me of home" or something like that) but I don't really see why Zac would want anything to do with Twitch.

I think that is great!

I just wonder if you plan to keep him as a comic releaf or are you planning something important that accually have an impact in Zaun. Can Ekko's old rat Mr. Sparkles or as others call him "Twitch" do an impact on the story?

Seriously speaking, it would be really nice if he accually had an impact

I hope the same fate doesn't befall Sion.

He also has the short story, "H.I.V.E. Incident Report".

And that means he has more than some other characters do.

For example, Kennen and Akali.

Do you know what they have? Their old two-paragraph bios, which still reference the Fields of Justice. The Fields of Justice haven't been referenced since the Great Institute of War Retcon. (The Fields of Justice were the locations where Champions would fight in battles organized by the Institute of War. The Institute of War does not exist anymore.) Summoner's Rift still likely exists within Runeterra, probably as the site of that battle mentioned in Aatrox's story, but it's unclear whether Fields of Justice exist anymore.

But I agree that Twitch has very, very little, and could use more. I just re-read H.I.V.E. Incident Report and enjoyed it. Twitch is cool.

(I was also disappointed that Xin Zhao was ignored in the Demacia event.)

But Akali will be updated with the Ionian lore rework. And Kennen with Yordles I am assuming. Its more like doing the Ionian update but ignoring Akali. I am assuming Xin will be either updated during Noxus lore rework.

I really hope you're right. Well, about Akali, that she will get updated with an Ionian event. We had this whole Vastayan event that centered on Ionia, where Ahri, Rakan, and Xayah are from, and I hope that wasn't in place of a real Ionia event. I'm a little worried. The Kinkou's lore is really sad right now.

Kennen I am hoping will get his new lore at the same time as Akali. He may be a Yordle, and if the Yordle lore update gives us new insights as to the nature of Yordles, it would apply to him as well, but he's Ionian. He's the Heart of the Tempest, one of the Kinkou Triumvirate.

I doubt Xin Zhao's going to get updated lore in the Noxus lore rework.

We don't know if she'll be updated with an ionia event or not.(I'd say it is actually less likely for her to be updated since she is on the VGU-list) Because so far Riot has almost always left out a few champs when they did lore updates. The shadow isles got a lore update already in 2015,where they were missing Maokai Elise and of course Yorick & Evelynn The Demacia update left out Sona,XinZhao and Lucian And the piltover update didn't update Heimerdinger or Ziggs

So its very likely that Ionia won't get an update to all of their champs at once, especially since Ionia is the faction with the most champions.

You are right that they left out Twitch in this event, kinda sad since I really like him as a character. Another character who was left out is Singed, but he got kinda compensated with the short story "Engineering the Nightmare".

But it is not entirely true that this one paragraph is all what Twitch has. Twitch has a color story called "Do not engage!". Unfortunately, I guess we won't get anything about him for quite some time. Maybe when Dr. Mundo is going to get his update, but that is far in the future.

I actually think they might update Twitch and Singed's lore along side Urgot's rework.

ChunLii1 votes

I thought Urgot was associated with Noxus.

ProtestantCaesar1 votes

In his current lore, he's a Noxian executioner with a lot of Zaunite technology in him. There was a rumor that I heard on these Boards that in his VGU, he'll be more Zaunite than Noxian. It wouldn't be that much different from his current lore, and would make him more different to Sion.

TimX24968B1 votes

it would be interesting if in his new lore noxus sent him to zaun for all the zaunite technology in him.

Eternal7911 votes

I'm actually pretty sure he'll be a Chem Baron who still works for Noxus (as he's originally from Noxus) as the overseer of Warmason operations in Piltover. Hell, he could even pay Zaunites to spy on the Pilties.

Likely he was originally stationed in Zaun for medical reasons and would often need to return to Zaun for maintenance; so he just resides there to make things more simple and convenient.
