@Riot Lore Persons - Does Rakan not actually love Xayah?

I was listening to the VO today, and I noticed that when Rakan asks Xayah what she would do if her were gone/dead, her responses are "I would be empty without you" and "I would burn down the world" (some paraphrasing). However, in Rakan's VO, there is a couple lines that sound like lines for when Xayah dies that are "Hello world, look who's single!" and "I miss her already... Oh well!" Plus, a lot of his VO lines are very self-centered "what do you think of my beauty and awesomeness" kind of lines.

So, my question is does Rakan only care for Xayah because she is just a fan who adores his beauty as much as he adores his own beauty, or does he actually love her?

Not sure if this is a question that cannot be answered at this moment in development, but I am curious to know more about them as characters.

A lot of cool discussion over reasons why, but I will just say that Rakan absolutely does love Xayah.

Those lines trigger on the death/killing of an enemy team Xayah-- and are thus meant as a joke.

He absolutely loves her.

I feel that they are actually aware of being in a place were they will respawn after death based on some quotes that i dont remember (because they have 25 min of dialogue)... due that, he jokes about being single because she will respawn anyways.

After all, his tone of voice when he is being serious is very different.

I think its a joke for when Rakan kills an enemy Xayah.

Mmmh, that actually sounds interesting. First time I read something interesting about those two.

It might be more of a thing where he's just not capable of knowing how to do something else. We know little of Vestaya culture, and remember that the teaser said that he's only fighting for her. Maybe it's a major bond but you're typically supposed to move on after your partner dies. He does ask her to marry him every day.

The dude straight up says he will kill anyone she tells him to and that they deserve to die because of it. If that's not love then I don't know what is.

People deal with grief differently. He's an arrogant prick for a lack of words. I think he really does love her, and if he lost her he would probably fall into other ways of coping. Kind of like how some people turn to Religion, or Alcohol, he'd turn to other Women.

It's part of his character being ''The Charmer'', he loves her but his quotes all contribute toward his personality
