Prediction about the incoming massive event (spoiler ?)

The pbe-lore update have finally placed Zilean somewhere And that alone means that the lore rioters know what they are doing

This means that,** the lore is ready **, Riot know what's coming

Last time i checked it was like :

DISCLAIMER: Despite putting ZIlean here at the top, it’s just to have a cool starting image. I don’t have a proper place for him in this timeline. Sorry Zilean; I’m still trying to figure this, and your lore hasn’t been updated yet.

how i see the coming events :

  • the lore of some champions is being connected to Icathia (Zilean , Jax, etc)
  • Icathia is going to be introduced as** a new region on the universe website**
  • Icathia will get an identifiable aesthetic
  • Icathia will soon bring **a new icathian champion **
  • Icathia's lore will explain us that the **big void portal is still active **and dangerous
  • Icathians are slightly different than humans (Zilean have elf ears, Jax was never confirmed human)

And that** Icathia will be the epicenter **of Runeterra's void invasion (Helped by the tunnels of Rek'Sai , the knowledge of Vel'Koz , etc) Targon will fight as much as they can this void Invasion

As a bonus i also expect Icathian themed skins to come out _(just ike the Shuriman event) _ Maybe this event will be as big as a Bilgewater or Shuriman event Riot said they didnt want to do these kind of things

But they broke their previous rules "to not continue legendary skinline" And now we have sweet skins like Pulsefire Caitlyn and an Omega Squad team

Back when Journals were a thing, they clashed several times. IIRC once they blew up a city block and the other time Karthus for some reason was caught in the crossfire- but it was K because he was already dead.

Yeah the whole league/summoner's is non-canon anymore all reference to the summoner's and league have been pretty much removed the only ones who still remark about summoners anymore is mordekaiser and a few others.

honestly with how much they'be been hyping up this event, I'd imagine it will be bigger then one region, but it could entirely be possible that Icthica will be at the center of it all. Though the chances of it being as big as the Bilgewater event are extremely slim. Riot mentioned they would not do another event like Bilgewater and said that even the Demacian event was something that was too large of an event.

My guess is that whatever happens, it will be a large event in the lore sense, involving multiple locations at once rather then one place on its own. If nothing else, a large lore event should at least be possible within the lore team's own resources, which I'm assuming only entails the Universe page and maybe Icons since I assume those are relatively cheep to produce.

exactly :^) But seriously, Riot updated Garen, Lux, Fiora and a few other Demacian champ lores, along with a short story for Demacia involving a few champs

This all came out at the same time as Galio and they released an Icon for it as well. technically it was more along the lines of convenient timing on Riots part and a Rioter stated that future events would likely have less involved then what Demacia got.

What? Shyvana and Jarvan god their bios updated and both had a ok color story. Yes Garen and Lux kind took away the spotlight but Jarvan and Shyvana definetely got proper stories

Just felt super lack luster. We still barely understand much about either of them and their stories were so intertwined, they felt like half stories each.

I'll agree that Jarvan and Shyvana definitely deserve more stories, but both serve as an decent foundation set up for their characters. Also both of their story have always intertwined with one another, at least this time Jarvan didn't get his underlings killed,

True to that. Hope they both get stories to show more individuality. As much as I love the champ, j4 really doesn't have much u can relate to. He is a leader, a prince, a warrior, but we have no insights to his inner thoughts or his true personality

It was a "Demacia Event" in the same way we had "Piltover vs. Zaun" event and "Mt. Targon" event

I really think this next event will be a REAL event focusing on the Void tbh

Icathians are slightly different than humans (Zilean have elf ears, Jax was never confirmed human)

Maybe its because they´re not really from Icathia. Maybe Icathia is a portal that connects with different worlds/dimensions through which different races come forth. Through that portal Zilean, Jax and the Voidborn came to Runeterra. Maybe even other champions from distant worlds such as Malphite and Morgana and Kayle used this portal.

Don´t know, just a small theory of mine.

I really ike your base idea that Icathia have "a portal that connects with different worlds/dimensions"

It really fit well with the new lore of Zilean (Icathia had time-magic) and the current void lore (Icathia have dimensional magic, and they fucked up)

Malphite's lore is very weird, and i think it will be changed somehow (Maybe connect it to the origin of Talyah's powers, earth-bending)

Kayle and Morgana , i don't think they would need Icathia to go wherever they want Probably unrelated

Nah the icathians were actually human.....i can't recall for certain but i think that i read on one of Ryze's lore's somewhere that they were a city of mages, that got their hands on a world rune.

Which went terribly wrong, and they blew a hole straight to the void.

And we all know how that song goes and ends, altho with a twist since jax survived.....altho quite changed.

Since then it seems the hole kind of half mended itself but things still go through from there time to time, like kha6,kog and rek sai......think cho did as well?

And the hole also leaks energy that corrupts spiritually gifted people, like malz were.

Icathia is pretty much the shining example of what happens when Ryze cant get to a place in time.

A big Icathia event would be nice, some visual updates for some of the older champs, maybe some new voice lines, though in all earnestly I just wonder what is on the table for Zilean, now with his new lore, like I get he is now immortal but is he like god level strength? or just unable to die? I Did his powers come from a rune, or something else? What do they want to take with him, I really hope we see it soon.

I think they intend to have an event in Ionia/piltover with Jhin,zed,shen, cait and others-

Was kinda hinted here and there for a while in a few texts that were released.

problem with lore in this game is you cant have it officially go anywhere massive because it would change the champions lore

in that way, nothing of any real importance will happen

Uum they now have mordekaiser as a warlord of a ghost army hellbent on taking over runeterra to try and retake is Immortal Bastion which is where noxus is now located and has wiped entire towns out of existence in bilgewater and sunk a town as well. Ironically lore wise if the black mist didn't sink a noxian war fleet estimated at over 30 ships ( read harrowing wiki) noxus probably would've taken over Ionia.

champion lore will not change unless they rework the champion

Mordekaiser's lore was not changed in the process so it was of no significance

these are simply events that don't affect the big picture

for instance

Noxus is trying to take of the world blah blah blah,

but they cant because that would change the big picture

Noxus sends 30 ships and they all sink = Noxus doesn't take over the world

it doesn't change the big picture

nothing that will change the big picture will ever occur because that means there has to eventually be an end game to it all

and Riot wants a game that lasts forever, so tons of things that change nothing will happen

just like the walking dead

drag it out, no ending to the story

just event, after event, after event

actually his entire lore was changed... what are you smoking. His lore went from an undead revenant who was mindlessly killing people for no information without a set end goal. He is still an undead revenant brought back by necromantic magic but that's where the similarities end. They said how he became a necromantic warlord by dying at the end of a war and being brought back by four necromancer's then killing them and enslaving their souls so they would all be around to perform the ritual, Which needed his full skeleton to work which he built the immortal bastion around now noxus after a thief stole his skull and mordekaiser was torn asunder by four giant basilisks tied to each of his limbs, which lead to them hiding his skull on the blessed isles which their king then went mad and practically killed everyone including himself after thresh brought back the king's wife but with maggot ridden flesh and begged to die the king then sacrificed himself killing himself and his wife but the spell was empowered by all the magical artifacts where they also stored mordekaiser's skull which enacted the black mist which was previously not known where it came from. With this change in lore to the blessed isles becoming shadow isles. Thresh had a whole new lore introduced, same with kalista, hecarim and karthus. Also the reason noxus can't take over the world is cause of Demacia is fighting against Noxus.

Basically no new mordekaiser lore changes ( which you say didn't happen) means no Noxus because they took over mordekaiser's old stronghold which means no Draven Darius Cassiopeia Katarina Kled Swain Sion Morgana Leblanc and these two technically because their origins are in Noxus. Urgot Karthus

He's right. I wan't a champion to die in the lore, just to show that the world actually changes. Closest thing we got was GP's story. Right now every story feels like there is no RISK for the champions because they can't die.

The "Big Event" is clearly going to be the void invasion that's been hyped up since literally release. They're probably going to save it for the 10th Anniversary of LoL.

If you're thinking "That's quite a ways off!" well, 4 years ago they said they were working on the Warwick rework and it'd be coming out soon." So Yeah, what Riot considers soon and what we do are no exactly in line.

Gonna be totally honest.....I'm not seeing the signs pointing towards Icathia being the next theme for the next event....with Swain and Irelia (As well as Aatrox) on the way, Noxus and Ionia should be receiving the big updates.

It's fine , other events not related to Icathia are also likely possible

I also agree that Ionia and Noxus were recently developped a lot

(But a war of Noxus/Ionia isnt supposed as important as a void invasion Otherwise Zoe would not have a message to herald)

No shit. I doubt they'll carry through with this anytime soon though because it's literally a war from another dimension to take over Runeterra as a whole. It would be a far more grand event and it would currently disrupt too many smaller storylines.

For anyone that actually has read the lore, it's obvious as fuck. I've made at least 2 threads listing it as one of the most major events in Runeterra. Back when i cared about the hype and then realized Riot will never go through with it as they lack resources to live up to it. I mean look at Butcher's Bride, and that was a relatively small event in comparison regarding just a few characters as opposed to almost half of the current Roster.

Well that's just you then. To me, the Void invasion from Icathia is obvious as hell but it's too far in the future. Not even in the Horizon.

What would be nice is if they reworked Nocturne and made him a Void champion instead of some dudes dream or gave us a similiar champion to noct Anything demonic / spirtiual like nocturne is a bonus in my book if theres a new champ : p

Prob wont happen though since riots leaning towards "Fan service" lately

Noc being from the Void would be so far removed from anything he ever was or will be. I don't think Ive ever seen any person claim they want him to be from the Void, just to be a demon, which he is.

To be fair, Void champs have such a huge presence on them despite them not numbering above 10. They're a pretty huge deal, even in League. To me, i don't really perceive there is a lack of them, even if there was objectively.

No but seriously Notcturne doesn't look at all or feel at all like a Void champion. The Void isn't just the place you throw all the evil monsters. It has a very specific theme and feel.
