Does the timeline simply continue without Ekko because he's left it entirely? Or does the timeline rewind itself? Also what would happen if the Z-Drive malfunctioned while Ekko was in the middle of a time jump?
it's just for gameplay. but in the cinematics (and the first design),his ultimate was supposed to affect everyone
According to the cinematic, the timeline seems to rewind itself but he retains most if not all of his original state (or at least has phantom pains, but cracking his jaw seems to disprove that).
Anyway, his Z-Drive was broken in the comic during a fight. It released an assload of energy and took him back once more to when he wound it, but it retained its damage. In other words, it breaks but gives you one last shot.
