Shadows and Mysteries of Runeterra : Rivalry of Jinx and Vi

Hey guys, Welcome to another episode of Shadows and Mysteries of Runeterra. This is the third episode. I want to make this a mini series where we discuss about various things. I will add a poll of what i believe what people would like to talk about. If it's a topic you guys feel like talking about, feel free to comment and it could be brought up in the next discussion. dialMark4Action has inspired me to start this with his "Facts, Myths, and Theories."

The last two episodes of Shadows and Mysteries of Runeterra was Lissandra's Frostgaurds and Noxus And the Black Rose. Todays Episode, which was chosen by poll(And was tied! But i chose this one :p) is about the popular rivalry of the loose cannon, Jinx and the Piltover Enforcer, Vi.

One of my personal favorite rivalries of League. Jinx and Vi's connection can be obviously view as the ole' cops and robbers skit. But there is also more to the "cotton candy duo." Get it? Cotton candy?? Heh heh..ahem. However, it has been noted that it's more than just a whacky criminal and an aggressive police officer. It seems that they're believed to be sisters, which this has been sort of nulled out.(But we'll get to that)

Let's first talk about Vi. She was a child who grew up on the wrong side of Piltover. Crime was all she knew and her talents was was spotted by a gang, who soon recruited her. But that was short lived when she saw they had no care for human life during a heist. After saving people that was about to die by their actions she went back to solitary crime, only robbing from other criminals. I suppose Caitlynn monitored this "change of heart" and offered her a job as a cop.

Now before I get to Jinx, lets take a look at some trivial points at her background. As given to us by Gypsylord, VI suffered some trauma that is halting her to remember key parts ofher childhood. And she's had that tattoo on her cheek for as long as she* can* remember. Hmm....interesting. Also, Vi was in a gang guys. Meaning that there are certain people who remember who Vi is. Maybe even a certain person we know.

I swear i think that quote has a hidden meaning. Anyway, Jinx was a random criminal who appeared in Piltover and start to wreak havoc on the peaceful city. "Jinx" was a name given to her because when ever she appeared, it was bad luck. But it seems she likes this nick name.(Keep this in mind) No one knows where she came from. Some speculated Zaun because of her clothing, but then again she use a bit of hextech from piltover in her wepons. After becoming a known criminal for Piltover, a city wide manhunt was issued to capture her. But in response the challenged Vi, and Vi only to capture her at a certain bank. Sure they both appeared, but Vi wasn't in luck. Instead, Jinx brought the building down on her and taunted her by saying "She'll never catch her"

Sure it just seems like it's cops and robbers. But Gypsylord hinted that Jinx targets Vi in some sort of manner. Hmm, Lets go back to what i said about ho certain people could remember Vi from her old gang when she was younger. What if jinx was one of those people? Maybe Jinx doesn't like that fact that Vi became a cop and abandoned her old crew. But that's just Theory crafting.

Also did you keep those nicknames in mind? Jinx and Vi, those aren't even their real names, but were given to them based on certain things about them. Vi's mystery tattoo and Jinx's destruction. Nicknames..or even code names. There is a theory based on the fact that they're both Zaunite lab experiments that escaped some how. I don't know about that one.

But I thought I would try to bring some key points in their stories to maybe give some hints on what I believe could be their connection. And to Answer to Gypsylord's question about why Jinx targets Vi in such a manner, I would believe it's because doing such things might cause Vi to remember some things about her past life.
