At best, Riot has taken World of Warcraft's "Gameplay takes priority over story", which forces Narrative to piece together a story for champions and events. Maybe that's why the two are separate now. On average, it feels like the company is disorganized and it's affecting the Lore team more. At worst, someone needs to sit the team down and teach them how to interact with the community.
I'm stick on the thought that Riot doesn't have one. Instead use some of their existing workers to write lore.....meh

So at the risk of deflating my big ego, why am I getting so many downvotes? I don't think I'm insulting them, at least more than others. I do honestly think the lore team have internal problems. Especially when they sort of said it themselves.
Riot isn't interested in real lore anymore. With their retcon and toss out everything plan, they can go full steam ahead to make champions that are generic whatevers. They can take their old characters, and boil them down to one or two sentences.
With the direction they are going with it currently, they could safely fire all of their lore team since it wouldn't matter anyway.
I don't know about the downvotes, it baffles me as well. There are a few good points in the opening of your thread. Maybe they are too moderated, people crave blood now on this board xD
