Lore Summary- The Shadow Isles

Since Kalisa has be released, she brought a very dim light on the Shadow Isles. To sum it up so far, the Shadow Isles was an Ancient Kingdom of old runeterra. Well Maybe not that old, probably a few centuries that's all. They had a monarchy, which means they had a king. The king was confirmed not only by the Twisted Treeline Altar, but by Kalista as Well.

It's confirmed that the king lost someone dear to him. Which led him to turn to necromancy. So far the events that happened Chronologically: 1. A family member of the King died. He fell into deep grief. 2. The king wanted to see that person back. So he sought out ways to achieve this. Resulting in him ordering his mages to break the barrier of Life and death. **3. **The Ritual did not go as planned. They made a terrible mistake. They let loose the Black mist, which flooded the Island and killed every living thing. 4. Maokai, the strongest spirit in the forest, preserved the last living thing on that island. Which was The great oak in the center of the Sacred Forest. This was also the same location the King and his mages did the Ritual. They used the Forest's magic. Eventually, Maokai leaves his former home to seek out a way to reverse the state of the island, **5. **Before, the IoW disappeared, They established the Twisted Treeline. The treeline was built in the ancient city of the Shadow Isles.(I still don't know how they were able to do that and get out alive) And around two altars. The two altars have a Husband and wife bound to each Altar. They reveal certain information when captured by certain champs. But, only the west altar, a lady spirit, tells us the place was once so beautiful.

Around this time, undead have been reported seen. So far, beings known as and. All came from the shadow isles. With their separate stories. And Every year during the time known as the Harrowing, The black mist spreads from the Isles to try to claim lives. This mist also carries tortured spirits from the Isles.

Now, one thing that still doesn't seem right is that Evelynn is from the Shadow Isles. Yet she isn't dead, but originated from there. This makes me wonder if it is things other then specters and wraiths on the isles. Of course there is Vilemaw, a giant undead spider. Then you have people like elise. Elise isnt dead but she received her powers from ......some where on there.

Another thing I want to point out is the current state of the king. He's dead of course, but i wonder if he has become undead and received powers like hecarim or thresh. I wonder also if the one he was trying to revive is undead also.

Geography Judging from the Harrowing login screen of this year, and the original art they had for it, the place is......lifeless. From Elise's description: "As I wandered deeper I saw death all around me. Ghostly trees, grass and flowers engulfed me in their horrifying radiance. It was so quiet and so beautiful. I passed my hand through a spectral leaf fluttering in the wind; but there was no wind. I imagine that there is also ghostly trents, i wouldnt think maokai would be the only one. It's possible for a spirit to take host of a tree. The sun does not reach this place. It is said there is an eternally thick fog blocking the view from outsiders. The would be the Black mist. There was a forest called the Sacred Forest. But i can imagine that its former inhabitants are shadow's now. The Island was suppose to to be very beautiful and teeming with all kinds of life. So even Centaurs were a race, evidently hecarim. I suppose on the high end of the Isles is the city where everything took place. It was visible in the Harrowing Login. I also Want to bring the Quotes of the Atlars to Narrative's Attention and Why Kalista have none. I dont think that she even have any of the Quotes that the Altars say to any of the Shadow Isles Champs. Will the Altars ever get updated? I am very interested what either of the Altars will say when Kalista Captures them.
