How would you all feel If CD Project Red were to offer making a game out of League's lore?

With the success of the Witcher series and soon to be success Cyberpunk 2077, It would seem safe to say: They do pretty well with making games based on narrative lore. A very hopeful thought sprung into mind since i like League's lore so much is the possibility of CDPR making a game of Runeterra. The freakin thought kills me just thinking about it. Imagine creating your character and going through some regions embarking on quest.

Keanu Reeves to play Janna and say you're breath taking

That will never happen.

They don't do pandering and milking cash cows :^)

I do not know who these CDPR are that you speak of, but if they killed my peop... Wait sorry, wrong story.

Anyway, I have absolutely no idea what this is, but I assume they make games, as I know what the Witcher is. But I'm gonna safely assume Riot can try and do that on their own, as they have an R&D team working on (at least) one game. And it would be stupid of them not to use their rich IP on a game.

Now, I'm all for a narrative-based game, so long as it remains wide and open. My point being, if you're playing a narrative-based game focusing on Yasuo, MF, etc... I'd be disappointed. Probably because the champions I like aren't popular, so I'm just biased.

So yeah, narrative-based game? Absolutely. They could -and should- do it. Surely we'll know more comes October... Patiently waiting for the 10 year anniversary...

Hard to say, as much as Id like to see a story based game set in a universe like LoL, at the same time I feel like LoL is very fractured with it's lore, and that while there is something to build off of, it would probably be easier at that point to make an entirely new IP. Runeterra is a big place and I don't know how you'd make it feel like it takes place there without leaving anything out and have a meaningful, connecting story for it all. Like do you focus on just Demacia and Noxus, or do you risk having a shallow ocean by trying to cover every region and their own wars and events going on?

And there's of course going to be the inevitability of people being unhappy that their favorite champion doesnt show up which again I feel like is why it'd be easier to craft an entirely new IP instead of trying to shoehorn everyone in and try to connect them, which is pretty much what the old LoL lore was with the Institute of War. You could have a few people show up but having them all be connected to the story would be a nightmare to design. It would probably be easier to just have some cameos or gear based on champions show up, ie Yasuo's sword legendary loot or something.

A CDPR RPG is the best thing the League universe could receive. But I don't know if it can have a worldbuilding as good as The Witcher and probably Cyberpunk will have, because so far, League's lore is lackluster, as in not very intricate.

CDPR shouldn't waste their time, to be honest.

From what I understand of them, they tend not to take on projects that they're not comfortable with, and feel they can actually develop quality stories around. Personally, I doubt they would feel confident with doing something with LoL's lore, even though there's quite a bit of it, and would much rather they focus their efforts on something they think would actually be worthwhile, because that's where their time is best spent.

I know we're just fantasizing here, but I would pay good money for a Runeterra open world RPG game where you could pick your home faction and build your character from the ground up. You'd run into league champs as allies or bosses as you grind to prove yourself worthy to enter the League of Legends.

Something like that..

CD Projekt Red doing the story of the Piltover Quartet ( Caitlyn, Vi, Jinx and Camille ) would be FUCKING awesome to play.

However, Tencent is money-hungry and Riot can't do much itself so we've gotta deal with unstable lore and prestige skins atm.

If it was multiplayer, sure. I wouldn't be that excited for a single player Runeterra game, it would kinda of feel like a waste. A blend of the two would be amazing though, a single player with a heavy multiplayer addition/focus. I don't want the multiplayer to be simplistic and small, I'd want it to be an integral part of the game - if not the entirety of the game.

Tbh, I'd rather play that than THIS
