Mecha Sion theory

It's a pretty wild guess, but I believe that Mecha Sion was hacked by Creator .

Based on the text that teased the skin, we can definitely assume that Mecha Zero Sion was a malfunctioning prototype that was activated by someone who breached the system that protected it. Considering the fact that Viktor is probably the only evil genius in Runeterra with the knowledge to do such a thing and that mechas are created in a distant future by (a Piltovian), it's easy to understand the motivations behind the actions of our beloved Zaunite trans-human.

On top of that, Mecha Sion shares some lines of dialogue with Viktor, one of them being "Function over form", that heavily hint at a connection between the two that is more than just sharing the same point of view.

The sad thing is, always ends up losing his free will and becomes a slave, both in the main universe and in the futuristic setting of Battlecast vs Mecha.

Nah a rioter actually said that there were hints about who hacked him in his VO;).

Skins can have their own lore as well.

Yep. I'm actually pretty fond of the lore they're creating as a backstory for the new sets of skin they're releasing. The PROJECT storyline was really interesting, but I might be biased because I'm a fan of the steampunk genre.

the lore is currently poor and inconsistent. I don't know why they should add more lore when they didn't finish the main one...

It's skin-lore so i doubt that there is much work put into it and it adds a bit more flavor to the skins. You know like Viktor creating the battlecast series or the yordles building the mecha-series,etc.

In the case of Mecha-zero-sion it is pretty essential for his VO,which largely is based around him being an abandoned proto-type for the mecha-series that has gone rogue due to the fact that he was hacked.

But he also mocks Viktor in his VO (It's actually: "Function over form. Destruction over everything else!"). Also he is more trying to be a leader ("Picture the perfect world, where all follow me!")

The existence of that line proves that Viktor had access to Mecha Sion's program and left a mark on his "subconscious". Maybe Mecha Sion was so defective that he couldn't completely take over him, therefore he limits himself to pull the strings from the dark.

I dont think that Mecha Sion was Hacked by Creator Viktor... Because Creator Viktor creates his own robots, he doesnt need to "steal" from others.

Maybe Mecha Sion was created by the Yordles in order to Fight against the Battlecast Army and that is the reason of why 00 thinks that he is superior to the everyone else, including Viktor, the yordles and other Mechas.

Maybe Viktor wanted to "free" him. It was a pity to leave such destructive power abandoned in a hangar. It's 100% confirmed that Mechas are created from the Yordles to fight against Viktor's Battlecasts, it's not just prototype 00, because the name itself suggests that he's the first failed attempt.

But it wouldnt make sense for Viktor to "free" someone that is against Viktor himself, The Machine Herald is smarter than that.

In another thread I asked to a Red about the hacker of ZERO and KateyKhaos said that there his VO was a Hint to discover the hacker.

At first, Viktor would be the obvious answer, since both of them share quotes... however, Katey said that it was a contidence. Therefore: Viktor is not the father... i mean... Hacker.

... So, Who is the real Hacker? Well here goes my super serious theory:

In an alternative future of Runeterra, there are many factions developing many different kinds of Robots/Cyborgs.

The biggest Faction is the Battlecast Army of Zaun. Where Creator Viktor rules. The Battlecast Army enters into a war against the rest of the world (Except Noxus that its ally of Zaun)... Due that, the rest of Runeterra starts to developing their own defenses against the BC threat.

In Freljord, using the technology of the smartest scientist of Freljord (Lyte (The Shopkeeper of Aram) and Angrygoran (Creator of the first robot of Freljord: Nunu Bot)), they create the PROGRAM, after defeating the real Ice Witch. PROGRAM is a benevolent AI that defends Freljord and their allies (Piltover... and Ionia i guess?)

Piltover and Demacia create the Full Machines and Steel legion... blablabla

Someone unknown creates cyborgs of skilled human warriors, the PROYECT.

And Bandle City creates the Mechas. Prototype 00 the first one created, gets problems due the interference an unkown hacker, so, the yordles decide to put an "anti-hacking" program to stop the hacker and shutdown the "failed" prototype. They keep developing other robots like Mecha Kha, Aatrox and Malphite... however, the Mecha 00 gets hacked again and escapes. Rumble, one of the creators of the Mecha proyect decides to build his own super fighting robot to stop the Mecha 00 and the Battlecast Army: The Super Galaxy Model. On a side note: Omega Squad Teemo leaves the army because he doesnt belive that machines can win the war.

The war between Mechas, Battlecast and other robots continues... but the mistery is not solved... Who is the hacker?

The Hacker is no one other than the most advanced AI of Runeterra, created by a powerfull evil wizzard, an AI with magical power that allows him to corrupt programs, computers, robots, the cosmos and even the game itself: Final Boss Veigar. He took the control of the Mecha 00 in order to rule the world... and he also hacked the PROGRAM, IBlitzcrank to be exact, and created Battle Boss Blitzcrank.

But Ebonmaw.... You said that the VO of Mecha Sion had hits about the hacker and Mecha Sion never mentions Veigar!!

Oh my dear human, you are right... but the hint its not about what Sion says... is about the voice itself: Final Boss Veigar and Mecha Zero Sion use the same Voice (actor), with different filters... and if you think about it, What is the goal of Veigar? Rule the World (and be taller)... What is the goal of Mecha Sion? Rule the world (and he IS super tall)

Nice theory! I really like the connection between Mechas, Battlecasts, PROJECTs, and Programs, but I believe Final Boss Veigar lives in a different universe. I don't think that Mecha Sion is against Viktor at all, since they share the same interest. In the end, when the time to choose the new ruler of the futuristic world will come, I believe that Viktor will just deactivate Sion: the poor guy is destined to be an expendable tool, he will never be truly free.
