Is there room for the introduction of new regions, realms and factions lorewise?

I just think that for a world that's now sell to us as enormous and massive, there are very little places to highlight. So, I imagine that in their progress of revamping the lore, we would get to know new places in Runeterra, once they end with the already existing regions. Because, at least in how is sell to us right now, the west of Valoran and Shurima is empty except for Demacia and Freljord, and thinking that Bilgewater was founded only 150 years ago... from where all the white people that populates it comes from? Because they don't look very noxian or demacian in values and culture.

Is there any official confirmation or denial by anyone on Riot on if they intent to expand the map of the world?

There were actually a couple of new places mentioned throughout the Demacia update, although they were all vague teasers with no real context, so I can only assume they were meant to be fresh new places.

  • Silent Forest/ Rancid King: no clue what that's meant to imply but I doubt he's from Noxus and possibly not Freljord either.
  • Vaskasian Villages: Could be a part of Demacia, might not.
  • Trifarian Legion: Could be barbarians, could be Noxians since it sounds like neither I'm hoping they're something new.
  • Argoth: Not a place so much as Bee-like swarm of creatures. Regardless they're clearly not Demacian, Noxian or barbarian.
  • Grelmorn: Foundations/ the writer didn't even hint what that is, so no friggin clue.
  • Drugne, Rugg, Trevail, Brashmore, Andras, Greenfang Mountains etc. Honestly I don't know what any of this means, but its implied to be places?

I would say a lore update of the Kumungu Jungles !

The place of Nidalee and Zyra

Truthfully I dont think we need more factions, rather we need more elaborationnon the current world that exist. Runterra is bathed in mythicism, from Eastern land of Ionalian, to the icy landscape of Frejlord. New factiond COULD be introduced but, i think that aould create more loose ends rather than growth, well atleast currently.

The thing is each setting sort of takes a type of fantasy. We got medieval-land, evil empire land, ice Viking land, Asia land, space opera land, Lovecraft land, etc. etc. etc.

So theoretically as long as there is a type of fantasy that hasn’t been written yet, there could be a new area. But they have already hit most of the basic fantasies. So it would take some thinking to get it right.

Overall I think that we'll see a bunch of smaller nations in the future, who'll end up getting conquered by Noxus. I mean they can't just let Noxus steamroll over the other factions to show off their conquering nature,so introducing a lesser enemy would make sense. And the Heirloom map did actually feature a few places who weren't listed as a part of any major faction. Like Palclyff,a place where it is even written that "no noxians permitted ashore-no exceptions" http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/piltover/medarda-heirloom

Aside from that,it'd be always possible for riot to eventually introduce a new continent. Though the big question would be what kind of nations they could introduce that would bring something new to the table.

Or maybe a new region or faction inspired of Atlantis ? An Alien region in space maybe ?

I remember that I read a quote saying that adding new regions is possible, if it makes sense.

Basically, a we region should have an overlaying theme, which isn't represented in the game right now.

Demacia: "good" fantasy/medieval Noxus: "evil" fantasy/medieval Ionia: Asia and nature magic Piltover: Victorian and steampunk/cyberpunk Zaun: mad science and steampunk Freljord: Norse and tundra Shurima: Egypt and desert Bandle City: Yordles Void: eldritch horror and biotech Bilgewater: pirates and the ocean Mount Targon: space and celestial beings

With that in mind: which theme could you imagine a new region to represent?
