I've always liked the idea of some kind of 'faction mode' for ARAM and non-ranked Rift games.
-In-game mechanics are unchanged.
-Each team can only pick champions from a specific faction (vote on faction the same way you vote on champs in All for One).
-The total victories/loses then factor into a big Runeterra-wide campaign so we can see how every faction is faring against each other. Stats could be reset every month or something. Like, "Demacia held off a Freljord raid this month, but their attack on Noxus was a complete failure." Plus there would be personal rankings, kind of like how we have Mastery Points for each Champion, but per faction.
-Riot could even make a map where the winning side could 'assign' their victory to a contested territory to help their faction gain control of it.
-This could also be used as a framework if Riot ever wanted to use actual game outcomes to move the lore forward in a certain part of the world. (Ok, Noxus is besieging Piltover this summer, play your games to see how the war goes. Riot gives us war updates every few days, and at the end of the summer, we'll know if Piltover was made a dependency of Noxus or if it remains independent).
Alternately....
-After a player has so many victories with a faction, they unlock something special, maybe access to a certain item for non-ranked games, or skin, or new lore stories about that faction. Like that Lux video we just had? Say you'd need 20 victories with the Demacians to be able to unlock certain content like that for Demacian champions.
