Don't worry, everyone's mind went there. Heck, I don't imagine my PBE account will have many Taric games for the next few days and it isn't due to a new ADC (though AD and top lane seems like a fun place to start)

As for Xayah I think it is just that she is short and wears heavy clothing. It hides a lot of her frame and that makes her appear younger. Plus there is the whole Vastaya being able to live incredibly long lifespans and all. We can't really judge their age well in the context of that.

Am I the only one who thinks the names sound like something you'd make up on the spot? Or someone just went igubwiubgwiebg on their keyboard?

Only point of interest for me is that we might have a mobility based support at long last. From a design perspective I think the pair look like a 12 year old's fan characters, but we'll wait for clearer kit info.

As far as I can tell, the female has spammable feather that has similar mechanic as Corki's missile that get stuck into ground at a distance and another ability pulls them back to her and Fizz's troll pole without mobility.

the guy has spammable Yasuo E that doesn't pass but rather jump on then off to next unit, possible terrain bypass even over walls and a self aoe slow?

They do look interesting at least.

If you look closely, her auto attacks are feathers that pierce landing into the ground behind her target. Along with an ability that spams feathers.

Rakan is a commom Urdu name meaning noble. Xayah is maybe based off variants of kayah including the latter, kiah, and kaya. The meaning ranges from god given strength, to wise child, to a resting place, to power/aptitude/capable.

Unpopular opinion but I think Rakan doesn't look as good in this splash, the 2 other artworks (teaser and the head-shot) of him look better and are more consistent than this one ;-;

yeah, his body is bit strange on this art, strange proportions, his torso/pecs are too high/too big, his waist/neck are too long, his right arm & shoulder are too thin yet too long at the same time, bit of a mess, like bad drawing kind of messy.

I thought about that, but that's not consistent with how he is portrayed everywhere else, you can check the official page here + Xayah looks pretty normal on this art too even though we can't clearly see her body

I mean her face has the obvious facial features, and she has a slender body not unlike that of a fox. I will agree that Rakan's ingame model is much more different compared to his art.

there is another art where they are together in the extras at the bottom of the page, his body/bones structure is more natural, they are essentially humans with fancy ears, fancy feet and fancy clothes.

It's because the Splash-art is stylized whereas the headshot in in his profile is merely concept. It's like how Sejuani looks different amongst most of her splash-arts in the face.

I was thinking about that earlier, a bit disappointed that they aren't more visually birdlike other than their legs and ears. Then I realized they both have 1 wing on opposite sides, since they're a pair.

nope 2 individuals that just sync up better together. sure you can pair the girl with bruam or thresh in the bot lane, but she will get more out of being paired with her fellow bird person
