I'm not seeing him on there. His original story was that he was a shuriman who travelled to Icathia and pretty much became a vessel for the void. Is that being dropped, or is he being kept for another "mass lore release"?
He abandoned his ties to shurima long ago. He is definitely not getting ret-conned out of there any time soon ether, as Taliyah has a specific quote towards him about how he turned his back on shurima.
His place is with the void now, and I heavily suspect that he will be considered for coverage in a void-based event.

From the looks of it,they'll make a page like this for each region. Meaning that we'll eventually get a void page and Malzahar(and rek'sai) will likely be part of that page.
For Shurima, being a desert and all, like most deserts, probably has area where people don't go, hence why Icathia is so mysterious.
I assume that with his new found power, he doesn't really have any ties or connection to Shurima anymore.
All his attention is at bringing the void to Runeterra and the goings on back home, however extravagant, probably don't concern him anymore.
As if RIOT ever really cared about any lore. they change stuff whenever they see it fit for a new Champion, new map or whatever...

I dont think malzahar cares about shurima anymore. He is currupted by the void.
