Sion's "Reborn" promo page has been taken down. Some interesting Noxus lore changes in the works?

It seems that for a while now the link to Sion's Promo, "Reborn", now doesn't lead to the beautiful multimedia promo anymore.

I don't think it's going to stay down as it's beautiful and has a ton of story in it. But it's disappearance could mean that some of the things in it are being altered.

What are they altering? My guess is replacing Swain's model (Swain's old model gets a short cameo there), but could be a ton of things. With the lore changes we got recently it wouldn't surprise me if some of the events discussed between Boram, the Black Rose and Swain there are no longer canon.

Who knows what Rito has in store?

A lot of the promo pages were taken down, i think that is just an error with Riot servers(or hosting) since the link to the promo page still in the Universe Page of Yasuo and Gnar who have the same problem.

This promo has a metric fuckton of lore in it so it would make little sense to keep it off.

Or it could be a bug, who knows. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

The 2016 Star Guardian page is also down, or at least was when I checked it. Probably a bug. :(

I don't see them changing Sion's lore changing considering how much time and effort went into his VGU. Considering the references to Blood Magic in the Darkin stories, we can assume that's mostly still canon.

I would assume this was taken down because that story referenced heavily conversations between Vlad, LeBlanc, and most importantly Swain. To avoid trouble in the future, it's better to wipe the slate clean and re-tell Sion's story again with new Swain in mind.

I don't think he is gonna be a part of the group anymore. I feel like that group is more for the deceptive magic users who want to control Noxus from behind the scenes. I think Swain will know of them and use them to his own ends, like resurrecting Sion, but I don't think he will be an operating member.

They could change everything but his resurrection. They could just change all Noxus champs to be more civil or more tyrannical while they look exactly the same.

I hope it’s still canon. Otherwise I’m going to beg for something better and fear for something worse.

Also, if anyone is confused on why Sion is a failed resurrection when Vlad has been around for so long, consider this: Sion doesn’t respect magic. Why would the Black Rose want someone with high military power who doesn’t respect magic? It’s easier to make a weapon to throw at enemies then bring back a potential threat.

Basically they lied to Boram and got him in dept to them despite their “failure”. They played him.

Objection! His best buddy Boram was a mage. Sure he did not dabble in magic while Sion was alive but he is more likely to have shared Sion's views than not.

Also, his quote about magic seems just like bragging about his power to me.

That said current Sion is not a leader at all either. And speaking of which another leader Darius isn't awfully fond of magic (enough to tolerate Swain but not Vlad for some reason). The power balance of Noxians confuses the hell out of me now, too many people seem to have beef with each other for many reasons. I can't wait to see how Swain gives everyone what they want so he can stay in power.

Somewhat related to that, my guess is actually that Vlad had issues with Boram and refused to work for him. Most of the Black Rose too. Did Boram start the fall of the aristocracy?

Tragedy and life events can change outlooks, and it’s possible that Boram’s view on magic wasn’t similar to Sion (allies can disagree). He took the offer of the Black Rose after all.

Swain will hopefully answer a lot of questions.

As for the aristocracy, I think Boram was the one who kept it in power and it’s still in power today. I like to think that Boram saw that removing the aristocracy would do more harm than good in the current state, so he planned to utilize them until he felt they were unnecessary (politics and stuff). But they never stopped being unnecessary, and soon he had to keep his life extended because he was becoming a target to be removed.

Kled has a few choice words about Noxus Prime to imply that it’s been in power for a long time.

He too the offer of the Black Rose, but his first dabblings in necromancy were his attempt to resurrect Sion. All in all there is little proof Sion looked down on magic.

I'm confused about that too. A Noxian Grand General was already the de facto ruler at his time, and the Black Rose history speaks of a time when nobles were in charge.

Kled (and many champions) are unreliable narrators. That’s probably his vision of Noxus, but we don’t have any one to compare it to.

And considering how Yordles that are deeply connected with kingdoms represent the closest to the true spirits of their respective areas, Kled might be on to something.

I think Darius hates aristocracy not all magic which Vlad is part of. He might even have special hate for Vlad because of what happened to Sion and I remember reading a rioter hearing saying how Sion is a painful point for Darius and many Noxians. Which begs the question does Darius not know Swain was part of Sion’s second resurrection? At least in the old lore now it was hard confirmed Swain was there for Sion’s second resurrection alongside Vlad and LeBlanc and Elise(?) not sure about the last one. Not only that but Swain WANTED to happen by using the Jarvan IV’s blood. This even leads to more questions, what is Swain’s relationship with Jarvan now since the promo was taken down?

Anyway my point is Darius might hate certain types of magic like necromancy but not all magic. He might also hate Vlad due to the aristocracy.

Darius' attitude is weird. Now that we know he's in charge of the army and blood magic is common in Noxian armies, why hasn't he purged it? Not to mention Swain's brand of "run in and magically kill everyone" isn't very pleasant either. My guess is his problems with Vlad come from the ancient patron of the aristocracy part.

Also do you have a link to the Rioter post that mentions the fact that Sion makes Noxians uncomfortable? Want to know what else it might have said.

It wasn’t a rioter technically but it was someone who was working with them closely and originally hinted that Darius and Draven are from basilich long before the comic so they can be trusted

Super interesting stuff! I agree Sharjo has a lot of truthful insight on the lore.

Although I have to say it confuses me why Vlad agreed to this knowing it would harm his reputation, now that we know he is quite iconic.
