I think for the next Void Champion (after Rek'Sai), we need a Broodmother

What do I mean by Broodmother? I mean a Void monster whose purpose is to breed legions of little underlings to overrun the hapless denizens of Runeterra. Now, I don't just mean one or two little Voidlings; I mean hundreds, even thousands of Broodlings, like the Zerg.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: For context, you would not micro these Broodlings. They would behave like minions and attack any enemies they can find without you needing to command them.

The UI work that'd need to be done for that one champion would be IMMENSE. We'd be waiting for a long sodding time.

Could be neat. The babies would have to work like you mentioned or as projectiles or something, though.

DOTA has a Broodmother, named...Broodmother. She's pretty fun.

I don't know, I don't like when the need for champions comes from trying to get known and already existing archetypes into the game, I always feel like they're not original enough. I think Riot should focus more on defining a line of characters which makes sense only in their own world, we should be in the position to say "she feels really Demacian" instead of "she feels really like magical girl stereotype #43 from manga/anime #53343343". Then, of course, tropes are bound to be and anything they could think of will be subject to the possibility of reducing it into a combination of known characters and theme, but the more they work to make this harder the better the result will be, imho. So I don't like the idea of LoL having a Broodmother, too clichéd.

And, after all, we already have one, it's Malzahar. He truly spams those voidlings...

I agree. Something similar to a wasp/bee queen like creature in terms of design or a moth. I would like a spider but we already have Elise which then it would be kinda redundant. The only reference I have is probably of the Dark Chykka from Metroid Prime 2: Dark Echoes. You can worker bees and/or warrior bees; with hives. I'm not sure what other cool mechanics could be introduced. Problem is Riot is already implementing Zz'rot's Portal item as a similar type of thing for taking towers. It would have been cool if it was unique to a champion; summoning a mass army from the void.

Eh.

No real reason.

Just make Malz' auto-attacks give him half a stack of Voidling summons and limit him to two out at a time.

Will never happen. League's engine does not support micro worth a shit. Therefore we will never get a real pet champion or micro units until they redo the whole game, so basically never.
