Can we please drop VO lines with Profanity when the Profanity Filter is On?

Hey Riot!

I play LoL in a pretty public setting, where my younger sisters can come in on me and see/hear what I'm playing any time. We try very hard to not expose them to profanity, so I have filters on everything I do, including the chat filter in LoL.

But with a few of the latest champions (Kled, Ryze rework, and now Xayah and Rakan) profanity has been going into the VO. I'd really love to play some of these champions, especially Xayah, but I'm loath to play them or AGAINST them (in Kled's case) due to that.

I realize that it would be a tech investment to develop a flag for VO lines with profanity in them, and to filter them out of the algorithm that decides what lines to play, but that is exactly what I would love to have.

Please remember those of us who are averse to profanity as you become less so! Thank you so much!

While I wouldn't use it I think this is a decent idea. You can turn off voice overs but still.

although its a good way to raise children i guess, i se no point in it..its 2017..everyone and their grandma curses and as soon as they grow up and get jobs theymost likely will hear it so i dont see any point in trying to shelter them from it

I mean, if you're going to have an option to censor in-text profanity, only makes sense to do the same for voiceovers. And this is coming from someone with a huge sailor mouth IRL.

I don't understand why people insist that society raise their children for them.

I was taught from the time I could talk that mommy and daddy could say cuss words but they were not allowed until I was older. As such, there was never a rule of 'Can you not curse in front of my child? Thanks!' because I was taught from the get-go what was expected of me. Start telling your children no instead of trying to hide everything from them.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but you have to remember that this game does have a T rating, meaning there will be some bad language. Much the same if one goes to go a pg-13 movie but brings their child with them, there will more than likely be a word here or there that they shouldn't hear.

I mean... headphones are a thing right

I would love this feature. I actually nearly quit playing when kled was released just so I wouldn't have to hear it. The lack of profanity compared to Dota 2 is why I chose league anyway when I got into moba's. It is also the reason Terran are my least favorite race in the starcraft franchise.

Was just thinking the same thing after hearing Xayah's VO. Glad I'm not the only one who's thinking of the children. LOL

I sorta love how you phrase this lol. You acknowledge that it'd be an investment on their part to make but you ask anyway because the worst they can do is say no. I think people should follow this example when they request something instead of either "Rito makes money so y they not do this??1?" or "Well that'd be impractical so let's not ask for anything ever."

Well written post gj.

Headphones. Change the language so you don't hear it in English. There are other options too.
