Ok, so is the brand a fully Solari brand or is it a Lunari Brand? Or did the Lunari symbol appear after she got her powers? Writing an origin fanfic so I'd like to be as close to right as possible with the branding.

A Superb Villain2 votesIf I recall correctly, that the mark on Diana's forehead being a brand was purely IronStylus' headcanon.
That said, it is your fanfiction, and you are perfectly capable of writing it the way you interpret her story and design. Personally, I would like for it to be a mark forced upon her b the Solari, but it simply does not make any sense; she wears the mark of the Lunari, denoting Diana as a heretic, which would be counterproductive to the Solari's goals of keeping their existence a secret.
Ralanr2 votesI personally saw it as a mockery. The higher ups knew about the Lunari, but wished to keep it secret. Diana wouldn't stop digging however, so when they punished her they gave her a heretic brand.

A Superb Villain2 votesMockery is an appropriate explanation; perhaps the sun/moon dichotomy was appropriated as a cultural phenomenon among Targon's civilization, resulting in the moon taking on a negative role despite the Lunari's absence. Hence, lunar imagery is associated with heresy without being explicitly connected to the Lunari.
And believe me, there have been far worse comments written by people who cannot rely on the excuse of recently waking up.

Headcannon: As far as I know, the moon has had no significance to the general populace of the Solari. Which made 
look like a problem child (which actually draws another similarity to 
funnily enough). But because the Elders knew that the Lunari existed they should have been afraid of Diana and gotten rid of her. There are a few reasons why they may not have, the top two being that they didn't want to (I imagined Diana, despite her disagreements, had incredible potential to become an elder in the Solari. It would be a waste to remove her) and because they had believed that everything that was significant to the Lunari's existence was destroyed.
But then we have the Brand. Actually I think the crescent moon image appeared when she gained her power, while the circular sun image is a brand of the Solari.
Looking at her base skin in comparison to her dark valkyrie skin:

The moon symbol is there on both while the sun symbol isn't.
This would mean that the Lunari weren't known to the current Solari. Which even further explains why the Solari never killed Diana before hand. They thought this moon thing was all fantasy!

If the characters are cheap marketing gimmicks to you why do you even care? Noone who cares if they believe that, should be posting in 'story' and 'art'
