Why people keep talking about him even though he isn't in the lore or the game? What did I miss?

kitcat3002 voteslong story short, he was champion concept that was teased 2 years ago. People got exited because he looked cool, but complications lead to his delay, so people were always hoping he would be announced soon.

As development went on, her concept evolved into what is now Elise. In this case Ao Shin Evolved into Aurelion Sol. It's not uncommon that initial champion designs look nothing like the finished product, which is why it is a bad idea to give early information, and risk people forming attachments to tentative stuff
