I think that Taliyah will be a support champion, due to her innocence/unwillingness to kill another being. According to her lore, Taliyah is encountered by Yasuo after running away from the carnage left behind whilst fighting along side Noxus against Ionia, and Yasuo takes her under his "wing" (Haha get it, because she's a bird, get it? Ok.) and tries to guide Taliyah as to how to control and unlock her power. So due to her aquintence with Yasuo I obviously suspect they will have great synergy (Yay!), but I also think that Taliyah will be the first support to enable a melee adc to botlane, and be a viable pick. Another reason I suspect this is because Riot has stated they would like botlane to support a wider variety of adc's not specific to just marksmen. These are just my speculations, I would love to hear your thoughts, lore related theories, speculations, and guesses on what Taliyah as a champion will be like!

I was really expecting some anime reaction from her.

If I remember correctly, a Rioter said sometime ago that there was a geomancer Marksman considered, so I guess its her.

Old Karma used to be an Support for AD Meele (bot) (she was designed for it at least).

I like her name, makes me think of a pretty brown skinned girl xD. I'm expecting her to be a Disruptor type mage with large aoe cc abilities, should be good. Really looking forward to seeing this champ, I hope she's got a really deep kit.

Obviously expecting an Earth Bending type deal and I agree that she might be intended as a support for melee carries.

My guess is she will be able to make walls like Trundle and Anivia, but that terrain will block projectiles or at least just skillshots and that will be meant to help with the whole melee vs ranged thing.

I also think she will have an ability that can ferry people on a boulder, maybe the ult.

And from the looks of it she will also have a "place me on the ground skillshot" that makes spikes come up and do damage as well as a knock up that may or may not be the same move.

Am I the only one who sees Taliya as some kind of off-mage ADC? I mean she uses a slingshot. And Rito is trying to bring in new things to LoL... Just seems logical to me

Why do you alternate between his/her? They use she/her throughout the story.

Honestly, I want her to be a Mage mid-laner. She might be Mage/Support like Karma or Orianna. I don't know why though, I'm expecting her to be kind of like Syndra.

I'd like to drop that at one point Azir made Sand Hands for his ult, this might be brought back.

Long story to keep everything in mind, but this is what I got from it:

  • She is ranged.
  • She can create Terrain like Anivia and Trundle, but can probably block projectiles like Yasuo.
  • She has ground based AoE damage and a . which could be the same sequential abbility.
  • She has a rock sled that can carry teamates, or maybe something that is closer to a rock storm.

When I read that she was using a sling, I was reminded of a recent Boards post asking for an ADC that uses a slingshot as a weapon, so that was my first thought. Unlikely as I read further though, lol.

I'm really hyped for this champ. Just from the story they gave us so far and how it seems like she has more a long journey to go on still, She might be the one that gives us answers to questions we have been asking for a while now. Since she's apparently going to head toward Freljord to get to Shurima, we might get an answer as to the aftermath of the battle for Freljord event and Yasuo even mentioned that she will have to pass through Noxus to get there, which is a great opportunity to give us some Noxus lore to tie over people who are desperate for some new Noxus lore.

I honestly hope someone does one of those complete breakdowns of what we learned from the new lore that's been added, cause that was some great work by Riot's lore team and has the potential to really knock it out of the park if they handle it right.

i was hoping for a mage but a support would be alright too

as long as gypsylord and certainlyT aren't the main designers they should be somewhat enjoyable
