Should Riot reveal the Victorius skins earlier than usual?
Hi everyone! I know that this topic of discussion is quite weird and very meta, but I believe it's related to the art department so I'm posting it here. If I'm wrong, please, feel free to tell me where should I post it and then delete this entire thread.
I've been playing LoL since mid S4 and I'm one of those players that's at least decent at the game, but only plays normals because lacks the drive to play ranked games. Really, just the thought of thinking about having to grind lp and win promos is bothering me. Anyways, I believe that, if I really liked this year victorious skin, I would probably start playing ranked just to reach gold V. The problem is that I don't know anything about the next victorious skin, so I don't know if I'll like it or not. "Well, look at the other victorious skin that have been already released". Ok, let's look at them:
- S1 --->
: for being a S1 skin, its quality is decent enough - S2 --->
: stunningly beautiful, definitely my favorite Janna skin - S3 --->
: amazing, my favourite Elise skin - S4 --->
: I dislike its model and, since I prefer Blackthorn Morgana's theme, I'm not that into it... - S5 --->
: ...why does Sivir look so swollen in this skin? - S6 --->
: No. Also, Maokai is one of the most boring champion in the game, so double no.
Obviously those opinions are mostly based on personal preferences, which is fine, but since there are so many variables involved (champion enjoyment, v. skin quality, v. skin vs pre-existing skins) we can safely say that this method is way too inconsistent to judge the next victorious skin.
The only option left, then, is waiting for the teaser, but there are still two problems: first of all, it might be "misleading" (for example, I really liked the teaser for Victorious Morgana, but I dislike her in-game model); secondly, it's released way too late, only 4 weeks before the end of the season.
So, what if Riot made a victorious skin reveal (not a teaser) a month and a half before the end of the season? What do you guys think about it?
