Baron Na'Shor ?

So something I noticed after i saw Rek'Sai was that her jaw structure and Baron's are almost identical. Added to that, Baron does burrow out his pit. AND Baron is quite purple (like most of the void champs Kassadin Malzahar Khazix Velkoz Chogath ) and has abilities similar to a Kog'Maw KogMaw on steroids. This train of thought lead me to the conclusion that Baron was the first void creature to be unleashed on Runeterra, it was the first one that came , probably as a scout to see if Runeterra could be consumed and added to the void (or something like that) I know the Baron on SR isn't the ACTUAL Baron, but just an imitate of the original as tribute to the meanest thing that Runeterra was made witness to. Regardless of it being only a shadow of its former self, it must have some of its essence, which explains (in theory) why certain void champions (who are attracted to his power/scent) are able to in turn find their way into Runeterra and into the League of Legends.

One of his passives is Void Corruption.

That means that Nashor's Tooth will fall prey to the curse of apos'tro'phe: Na'Shor's Tooth

Actually, it's Nas'hor. Vel'koz, Kha'zix, Kog'maw, Rek'sai, and Cho'...gath?

While the artistic design clearly shows Baron as having Void influence, has it been stated that he was a Void native? it's possible he is like Malzahar and is a corrupted creature native to Runeterra.

His relationship with the void has never been stated previously, which is why I was wondering where he came from..

(There is no apostrophe in his name) (I'll be going now)

Yes Baron Nash'or is now part of the void, although not explicitly said here in NA its been confirmed by the rioters in LAN. Rek'sai Q&A (My own terrible translation)

(Regarding rek'sai baron similarities) They are both the void, and all things that come from there share some similarities . More than that we do not know ^^ Source

LAN Summoner's rift update showcase

''There was a minor change in Nashor, in which he is now a void creature and its now Nash'or like Kha'zix , Cho'Gath , that division was the only name change.'' source

On that note Son of Nash'or Kog'maw skin riot pls?

Velkoz is wideley considered the first void creature to enter runeterra, as he dates back to at least the time of ancien freljord, as he is associated with the watchers. Baron on the new sr is now the "true" baron, just not as powerful as he is in the lore. Plus, he's probobly KogMaw's daddy

I didn't know it was widely considered. Vel'Koz probably isn't what The Frozen Watchers are though, the statues are cyclopean, sure, but they also have horns. The Promo Page for Freljord shows one in the flesh a little bit, where the dissimilarities to Vel'Koz are apparent. Other than looks (i.e. both have one eye) I don't know of any allusions to a connection. Vel'Koz is likely a pretty recent arrival.

Why not both?

It was long confirmed that Vel'koz is not a watcher.

And Vel'Koz was surely not around during prehistoric times considering that the first contact video shows us the first meeting between him and humans and that he also found zileans tower after zilean had left it already

"Vel'Koz himself is not a watcher, but I don't think it's crazy to think that a rift may have opened in the Freljord a long time ago." - RiotOpeli

Emphasis mine.

But first we must define a "watcher".....is it a race like being a human, or an affiliation like being Demacian or Noxian who are humans? "Himself" speaks of Vel'koz as an individual -that does not mean that members of his race (ancestors) are not counted among them, or even make them up entirely. Who knows how time passes in the void two? If he and the watchers are of the same race they coud be like Gnar and modern yordles,

I know that it is possible that the watchers are void beings(although I personally don't belief it),but since vel'koz is not one of them,it means that those statues and ancient pictures of a watcher stand in no way related to him as an individual, thus there is no reason why he should have arrived a long time ago just because of the watchers.

GreenLore2 votes

No one agrees on that,it was clarified that despite the similarities Vel'koz is NOT a watcher.

In fact the first contact video as well as his lore makes it clear that vel'koz has entered Runeterra only recently. He came into runeterra most likely in icathia, then traveled to urtistan(most likely crossing shurima on his way),where he found zileans tower and killed his comrades. So Vel'koz has to have entered runeterra around the time zilean left his tower. The first contact video shows vel'koz attacking what seems to be a demacian soldier, which most likely happened after vel'koz found the tower, since urtistan is south of demacia and vel'koz was alone in that video.

Baron's origins are far more ancient to those of vel'koz , whose is mentioned in his lore im sure

junglerboy161 votes

Riot confirmed that Vel'koz is not associated with the watchers. Baron could certainly be from the void, but the thing most people fail to consider is that the void houses a host of entities that were driven OUT OF runeterra to begin with. I believe Nashor was likely one of the original beasts from back before they were driven into the void.

Solideus1 votes

I haven't heard about the "driven out"-part before. Do you have a source?

junglerboy161 votes

I thought that was in Cho'gath's lore (technically not cannon after the retcon finishes), but I may be wrong.

EDIT: Yes, it is in cho'gath's lore, at the bottom of the first paragraph.
