How often do Humans interact with non-humans?

We know that humans make up most of the world, but how often do they interact with other creatures? Someone from the Freljord shouldn't be surprised to see an Ursine or Troll, while I don't think someone from Demacia has even seen an Ascendant.

I'd say it depends upon your geography. While there's no exact map of Runeterra, there's still areas or "themes". I'll use your example of Shurima, sure a Demacian hasn't ever seen an Ascendant but neither have many people in Shurima. Sure Azir is trying to reforge his empire but he's most likely not going to go to every nomad camp. The theme there is that the ascendant are the powers that be in that area and are fighting for control and only interact with humans on a needed basis. This is opposed to Demacia/Noxus where the theme is normal human war (or something similar) where one would probably never see a non-human.

Yes, humans interact with other creatures and they do so often. It's kinda obvious.

With the exceptions of Demacia and Noxus literally every other nation or region found in around Valoran has Humans and Non-humans coexisting in some capacity. From the Frozen Watchers in the Freljord, to the Void creatures lurking around Shurima, as well as the Harrowing in Bilgewater and the artificial beings manufactured in Zaun and Piltover. Then there's Ionia, which is just a cesspool of different magical creatures. Like half human, half animal people; all manner of magical Dragons; Celestial beings; nature spirits and spooky things from the Spirit realm.

This doesn't mean every nation is aware of the inhabitants of its neighbouring regions. So no, someone from Demacia won’t ever have seen an Ascendant (Ascended BTW).

Depends on the locale. In the Freljord that shit's probably not 100% common but a major thing that affects daily life. In northern Shurima meeting non-humans is likely not all that common, but in the south there's Voidborn to deal with on occassion. If Alistar's anything to go by meeting Minotaurs on the Noxian plains probably isn't too unreasonable of a thing to occur.

But then you get to places like Demacia, where meeting non humans is probably super rare, Piltover and Zaun, where despite the oddities, there's no guarantees of actually seeing anything that isn't human (And given the weird state of yordle lore they're probably not anywhere near this either, at least not to a large degree). Bilgewater probably doesn't see many non-humans going around either.

Ionia is weird so I have no clue. On the one hand they have a mostly human roster. On the other hand they had a whole grove of chimerica beings living there once.
