Does Ryze need to eat?

I know he had a meal with Yago, but I'm not sure if that was just because he needs to eat or he can eat but just doesn't need to. Yago said he should given how thin Ryze was, and I can understand forgetting to eat, but Ryze's lifespan has been extended a long time due to his hunt for world runes. So it wouldn't be too far fetched if they made it so he didn't need to eat, right?

I'm writing a fanfic, so I'd like to know.
