I mean, if you notice, Riot has every element covered by a champion. Brand = fire. Yasuo = wind. Nami = water. Taliyah = earth. I mean Taliyah even has moves very similar to an avatar character, Toph. Now we get a new champions very similar to the metal bender police chief? Also "elementalist Lux". Seems fishy.
Or you know, the thousands of years of human lore legend and mythology that uses the ability to manipulate these prime elemants as the power of the gods
the real question is are the makers of avatar secret fans of the show captain planet?
They very likely have a lot of avatar fans among them,but the reasoning that they might be avatar-fans because we have champs for every element seems rather flawed considering that the concept of the 4 elements is such an old one.
Also you count Yasuo for Wind,but not Janna?Seriously Janna is all about wind and air,wheras Yasuo only uses wind for only 2 of his abilities.
Are you seriously thinking that Avatar invented Benders ? The concept of manipulating the elements is as old as humanity.
I wouldn't call it a secret. Many Riot employees have voiced their enjoyment of the Avatar series repeatedly over the course of League's life.
