Perhaps we overreacted to the Evelynn Splash

The more I play Eve on the PBE, the more I feel the splash art does a better job representing the actual model than the more realistic looking teaser image.

Even the (obnoxious at first) large crown of the shadow eve skin is growing on me. All of the Eve skins feel like a leap in technology compared to even the recent urgot update. They animate super silky smooth and frequently surprise me with little bells and whistles.

You fuckers overreact to everything.

No shit. Like every other art change ever.

You cannot please_** all**_ gaming fans. A certain subset, probably small, is the most vocally toxic group in this world. They will go as far as doxing/swatting/etc/.

Riot did make slight adjustments to the base splash and Eve does look better because of it. I personally thought she looked fine before but she looks better now.

Nah. I'd still like Evelynn to be more like the teaser. That's just me though. I don't really care because I'm not a huge Evelynn fan. Will play her more after the rework because I like assassins.

I personally hate the hat, but since they have it animated they could do a shadow eve with without hat skin and treat it like a Chroma attachment. kind of like what they did with Kayle, with without helmet.

They did change the art though! That's probably why you're not seeing any threads about it anymore =)

i still really dont like the crown on shadow eve but if they decide not to change it ill still probably use the skin over any of the others, i mean if you look at all of her current skins side by side in game pretty much every single one of them was actually a recolor except for safecracker. that being said, her walk cycle alone makes the rework a success lol.

the thing is, things like splash art and in game models are subjective. what you like and what I like are two completely different things.

As a whole I think most of the new models and splash art looks great and I'm excited to give the gameplay a try (I will say the backstep on the alt does have me a little concerned about gameplay but I've been wrong about those things before)........ however while a lot of people like the new emo/vampire/goth shadow Eve skin, I do not as I bought it not for the goth/emo feel but because of the more subdued color palette and normal skin tone which has been changed to electric blue/black and flat pale white. And what annoying me greatly isn't so much that the model was changed it was that the feel of the model was changed into another trope that has a wider appeal, thus leaving those of us who liked the feel of old one to be left scratching our heads and then have the ones who enjoy the new model jumping on our throats for saying anything negative about it.

I firmly believe that Riot needs to rethink their rework policy of no refund whenever there is a massive change to the feel and aesthetic of skins like this one.

I still can't stand her face in the classic splash art.
