I often see people referring to Janna as a "whore" so my question is why? She a whore in the lore?

Well, unless I'm mistaken, she did have to resort to prostitution a bit before she embraced her wind powers. Par for the course when you're living in Zaun.
Its only because of her joke. "Yes, its true, for only $2.95, i will leave you breathless" which is a reference to sex hotlines. It in reality has nothing to do with her otherwise.
