Question: Are all bandits in Runeterra going to be cannon fodder? Or are there any a cut above?

It'd be nice to actually have a Champion who is a super-experienced bandit lord. A guy who's all "sack'em, boys!" or who loves to rape captive women as a pastime (which may or may not be elaborated on in lore; I mean Riot DID lightly allude to it in Leona's short story).

Sivir might be a mercenary, but she's no bandit. She doesn't just kill or femdom people for fun; it's only if she's paid enough. And Sejuani's a conqueror, so she's got more on her mind than just endless looting and slaughter.

To put it in perspective, it'd be awesome to have someone like Kano from the Mortal Kombat series (minus the laser eye), though less mercenary and even more repulsive.

Well, that's kind of the thing about banditry: it's something you do when you're not very good at doing anything better.

Anyone with the strength, skill, or ability to make it into the League of Legends is, by default, going to at LEAST have the skillset to be either a higher class criminal or a larger scale villain.

One-Tooth Zomo who runs a band of cutthroats to ambush wealthy merchants in remote places where there are no peacekeepers to speak of is simply not ready to step into the ring and throw down with master ninjas, spirit callers, giant crystal scorpions, and eternal undead avatars of suffering.

The Bilgewater-based champions that aren't Illaoi, Nami, Fizz, Tahm Kench or Nautilus - Gangplank, Miss Fortune, Graves, and Twisted Fate, in other words - are all basically bandits (bandits of the sea, or pirates), but a combination of determination, brutality and a little bit of luck have set them apart from the rest of the pack. Vi, before she became deputy of Piltover was a heister (urban bandit who goes after the big scores). Sivir is a bounty/treasure hunter with no supernatural abilities or background (aside from a royal/Ascendant ancestry) that makes her distinct; basically she's a champion because she was the right woman in the wrong place.

Even so soon after the Bilgewater event, people forget so easily how many badass normals we have in the roster; people who can hold their own against champions with phenomenal cosmic powers.

I've always seen Tryndamyre as a good candidate for a bandit lord.

I guess they could make a champ like that eventually, they actually worked on one at one point(called rob blackblade),but he got cancelled(granted he looked rather lame).

Glad someone pointed this out. So much of the new lore just has a scene where the main character slaughters a bunch of bandits, or Noxians if they're feeling giddy :l
