Somewhere in that run of patches- The Ryze update (full visual, audio overhaul, plus some kit changes that have a focus on balance ability, game health and distinctiveness) At least one new champion.

Welp, these are the patches for this year. Ryze replaces Yorick in line for reworks and one new champion. Can't say I'm surprised. It is disappointing though.

Just because he's not going to be in the next few patches means he won't be this year? K.

He'll be out October/November, I'll bet you.

Or that he'll be released in the pre-season, towards the very back end of the year a la Poppy.

It's not like Ryze cut Yorick out of the spotlight; Yorick's just that much of an endeavour to work on.

The fact he hasn't been said is more indicative of the fact they know Ryze is close to being done and they can have a time frame for his release, while Yorick still needs no work. The lack of a mention doesn't mean it's not happening. It wouldn't surprise me if he came out in the pre-season though.

At least one new champion?

Uhh...it's June. I really doubt we'll only get one new champion between now and December.

They said already that Ryze will get his rework before Yorick and that they work on both at the same time...

Also they gave us a small preview of the upcoming 7 patches, which will cover roughly ~3-4 months, meaning that there is still a good chance for yorick to come out during october-december(wouldn't surprise me if they tried to release it during halloween)

He might even be in one of these patches considering that riot would likely avoid mentioning him if they just weren't sure if he could make it or not.

Ryze, Yorick and Warwick are all this year

There is still a chance.

It's not guaranteed, but it is highly likely he will be released this year.

Ryze isn't replacing Yorick. He's being worked on by an entirely different team, and requires less work. Ryze will be done first, but he's not getting in Yorick's way.
