Yall are seriouisly overreactring about Viktor.

The guy maybe misunderstood, but so is Jhin. Does Jhin Just wants to give people beautiful deaths. Does not mean what he is doing is wrong. Killer people for his amusement it pretty much what he's doing, from a grey standpoint. Viktor may view his actions are good, and i dont even know how viktor fanboys are saying what he's done is right....such as kill more then 5 people for his "Glorious Evolution." Even IF something bad did happen in Viktor's life, that does not justify his actions....at ALL. His overall view it to turn humanity into machines. Regardless of what benefits it could bring, that goes against a very large percentage of Humanity on Runeterra. Good or bad, the answer will aways be that Viktor has selfish goals and doesn't care how it affects other people.

He even wanted to make people lose their free will with that diver suit. Can u viktor fans at least bring that to the table??? Syndra killed her master because he threaten to take her power away and sealed it against her will, he is wrong for that. And Although Syndra's murder could be justified, doesnt mean she did not commit a crime in her country.

How can anybody blindly justify Viktor's actions??? Even in the old lore, he wrecked Jayce's lab and stole the crystal unprovoked......he done nothing wrong though?? Again with jhin, he murdered many people for yrs. Yes, no one will understand Jhin but himself. We could misundestand whant he ment to do all day, he still killed alot of people, all for art. You guys must have this same view for Viktor; We don't understand him, but he is still doing wrong.

The point is:

Jhin was born and meant to be like this as a champion, his lore is like this and it's beautiful as it is.

Viktor's lore had completely different traits, traits that made players emphasize with the character. He was cool because he started naive, curious and human, then he got betrayed by the world he loved and tried to help, he grew feelings of revenge and anger, realized those were wrong, that they were weaknesses that wouldn't help te future, and managed to remove them, while also making a project that couldn't be stolen from him, because he himself was his project: The Glorious Evolution. He became almost the opposite of the man he was before, aphatetic, obsessed with his project and not a human anymore, spreading his word as a religion and convincing even the most skeptical scientist of its value.

This is way, way different from the "new Viktor", who since when human thought about upgrading humans into machines, including the removal of free will and other amoral things (like, from jayce's POV, cutting heads and make people into his robot pawns), a man who got expelled from his academy and who seeked revenge without suppressing his feelings like in the old lore. This makes no sense, he's just a villain from start to end, he's not even comparable to the old lore Viktor in my opionion.

I hope that explains people's concern on the new lore.

You're not wrong... I feel the gap between Viktor and Jhin may be just a little too big for what you're comparing them to, but I'll agree with your Syndra comparison. For the simple fact that no sane person is going to agree with Jhin's actions, but Syndra's are closer to justifiable without having a screw loose.

I've already made a statement in some random thread about the free will thing and why it can be morally grey, but here it is revised.

In a perfect world with Viktor's changes workers go to work, put on the suits, gain the ability to do their job with extreme efficiency and no distraction. In addition they can't make any voluntary errors, like when your 15/3/ Vayne rolls into the entire enemy team to 1v5 (doesn't that sound like a perfect world?). Once they finish work they simply take the suits off, and go home perfectly safe and sound. Imo of all the sketchy things Viktor does in Jayce's bio and story the free will thing is actually the easiest to see how it could be not evil.

it's really not hard to see how the actions in Jayce's bio aren't black and white evil. Viktor has always been a "greater good" character. If he isn't then nothing is going to bring conflict to him unless he's completely evil, or confronted by some cheesy villain that's there to stop someone from peacefully upgrading volunteers. Neither of which I'm too keen on being the reality.

I just don't understand how Viktor's actual lore hasn't been released yet and people are going ballistic. We don't know Viktor's point of view on the events in Jayce's lore. We know Jayce's point of view and Jayce is meant to be portrayed as a hero whether he likes it or not.

For all we know the dead bodies with their brains removed were willing sacrifices in the name of the glorious evolution. We just don't know what happened, how it happened, and why.
