Like no offense, but I was hoping it would be a male mostly because I'm sick of the cutsy female spamtron mages in this game. I was hoping for something hardcore, apocalyptic, Wizardly for crying out loud. Not butterflies in bubbles......ffs.......
Syndra Karma Zyra and Orianna are not "cute." Same of Janna and Sona probably. They look cool, but I wouldn't call them "cute." And why do you say that a male one would be the hardcore and apocalyptic one? Legitimate question.
There are plenty of badass male mages as well. Swain's upcoming rework should more or less be considered a new male mage release.
If she turns out 'cutesy as default' I'll be hella surprised.

Who said she was cute? I could see bubbles and butterflies being really different; The Roadmap implies that she possesses some sort of twilight-related powers. Combine that with the hint word "sleep" (also found in the article) and I think we're getting something so much more than just sparkles and cuteness.
Quite the opposite in fact- I feel like her theme is going to delve into the psychic realm of "twilight": Dreams, illusions, hallucinations, sleep, some sort of mind control, even nightmares, etc.
And I'm so hyped for that. :)
It'd be interesting if it were, say, an old nanny mage. But I shouldn't set my expectations too high, and be prepared for a cutesy kawaii pretty mage girl.
I agree we have a lot of female mages... but calling and cute isn't really right (fan arts don't count, it's not in their character).
Taliyah is already our cute mage which was released as the newest. I dont think next one needed to be another cute one just because our last champions were "grim", which isnt even true.
I'm all for it as long as it's what think it is, which is a Glade Burst Mage. It's been too long since we visited the Glade and I really hope this new Mage is about being a trickster Burst Mage, fitting of the playful yet sinister thing the Glade has going (I say sinister because Pix is often jokingly said to be evil because he basically stole Lulu's life away from her to go play in a magical world).
Something hardcore and apocalyptic? So... cataclysmic?
