I smell a Piltover/ Zaun Event

Nexus Siege - Strings and Assets [NOTE: This game mode is not yet available on the PBE yet, all we have are the assets.] Lots of files and references to NEXUS SIEGE, which appears to be an new game mode on SR!

At a glance, this mode seems to be an attack and defense sort of scenario where teams use a new resource to buy unique items and ways to upgrade defenses such as turrets, teleporters, and more.

Few bits from the text strings:

 "Welcome to Nexus Siege!"
Attacking and defending teams, seems to work in rounds.
A new resources "Crystal Shards" which are used to purchase deployables.
There appear to be several upgrades and deployable devices to purchase, including teleporters, laser and missile upgrades for turrets, a banner to buff minions, special trinkets and active items,

Teleporters, lasers and missile upgrades for Turrets. Isn't stuff liek that relevant to Zaun/Piltover?

I might be wrong, but my hunch was ALWAYS a P/Z Event this summer. And this is furthering my belief in it. HYPE

nope, you were wrong. Riot doesn't do events based on lore, sorry dude! I would love to see these events, but sadly Riot doesn't have the resources to upkeep them.

It really doesn't shock me they're getting around to this: Piltover & Zaun are long-standing holdouts where the old lore hasn't been updated properly. It's about time they finally got around to bringing these two places back into the fold and getting them up to snuff.

Really looking forward to the champion lore changes they make with it too. Can't wait to see Mundo's new Lore...

Wouldn't surprise me since they already said that Jhin will visit Zaun and meet Cait/Vi there,which sounds like they have already something planned for these city states. Also Graves and Twisted Fate are on their way to Piltover,so that story could also be continued.

Except with the point that the game mode is at, as in, it's in testing on the PBE, it would be slated to launch well before any champion reworks or new champions that would be tied into the Zaun or Piltover lore, and they seem to rarely be in the mode of just launching lore without a new champ/relaunch involved. The Shurima event had Azir, Bilgewater had Gangplank rework, and Targon had Aurelion Sol and Taric relaunch. The only champion remotely on the radar that correlates with Zaun is Warwick, and he's not due until early next year; and the new champion they mentioned in the state of the season that would drop between 6.10 and 6.18 isn't even on the PBE yet. So unless they stall out the game mode long enough for that champ (provided it is related to Piltover or Zaun), I can't see how this mode would fit.
