Riot, some of the old skins can share the same splashes
It seems that most of the forums agree on two points
- Riot's current art department produces amazing artwork
- Some of the dated skins have inferior splashes, and changing them with the Chinese ones is a temporary solution only, as some of the Chinese ones aren't great
The problem is, of course, creating some of the brilliant new arts takes time and resources. Is it already Riot's intention to put some old skins in the same splash, and is this a good idea overall?
Off the top of my head there is plenty of room for this, especially for the cheap skins:
Recon Teemo - Guerrila Tristana (soldiers, friends (?))
Desperada Cassio - Outback Renekton (Shurima Lore,~~ Wild west themed~~)
King Tryndamere - Queen Ashe (married, and Queen Ashe already has a great splash, but few people have any idea they're married, so an art to remind that would be sweet)
Uncle Ryze - Statue of Karthus - That other American skin I can't remember (does it need explaining?)
Aristocrat Vayne - Marquis Vladimir (enemies, aristocrats)
Commando Lux, Garen, Jarvan IV, Galio, all of these are pretty dated (Demacians, buddies)
Bilgewater Swain and Katarina (Bilgewater theme, enemies)
All the Vandal skins together
All the Crimson Elite skin together (There's just Talon and Riven so far, right?)
While I'm usually against many skins sharing a single splash, I think it is acceptable for some 520 skins in order to accentuate on relationships between champions and bring us great splashes faster.
