Now that Bloodlord Vlad is seeing so much pro play, is he getting a new splash?

Dear Riot,

Since he was all over pro games today, is it not fitting and presentable that he gets a fabulous new splash that will truly make us want to kneel before Vlad? I mean it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of him in future.

Just daydreaming.

Thanks, VxV.

PS Reav3, I know you want it too, give this cause your glorious support.

LoL, maybe one day but I think the splashes that don't match the models are still higher priority.

Good try though :P

Yeah, those awesome new splashes where models look NOTHING like them :(

I think Socrates got into Reav3s account with the hypocrisy and backwards thinking

It's just a joke. It's just a joke. Maybe.

He's referring to skin splashes though....

They said that they do work on a few random ones, though these are not the priorities, they merely finish the ones that they've started back when they didn't organize the process.

Sorry, but I was referring to the initiative from Champion Update to update the old splash art from previous Visual Updates. Champion Update is not the only team at Riot with Illustrators though and aren't the only team capable of updating old splash art. Champion update did help on some of the recent base splashes but those were also worked on by many rioters from many teams.

Also some rioters work on splash art on there own time as passion projects. Those still get released occasionally outside of the champion update initiative. Since it's on there own time they work on whatever they want which is usually a champion/skin they are passionate about. Traditional Trundle for one was worked on by Mitch Malloy (a artist on our promo team) as part of a passion project for him, we just released it with our Trundle splash update.

Thanks for the info again, a good explanation.

Traditional Trundle for one was worked on by Mitch Malloy (a artist on our promo team) as part of a passion project for him

It makes so much sense now!

Guess all we can do us hope a Riot-associated artist has a similar passion for our boy Vladdy!

Tell Mitch that we all could see his passion on the Trad Trundle splash art @_@

I mean that's true and justified, but occasionally splashes of non-VUd champs(and skins) get replaced with something magnificent.

Perhaps one such splash update could contain a certain Noxian blood mage?

Please excuse me, playing too much Vladimir does make one incredibly thirsty.

Lol, we will see.

Those Vlad games were pretty fun to watch today in EU LCS too.

I need to know, is the "LoL" thing instinctive from typing is as an acronym for "League of Legends" so often, or is that actually how you type for "laugh out loud"? This has captivated me and I cannot rest without getting the answer.

RiotReav32 votes

Oops, meant lol as in "laugh out loud." Guess I am just used to typing LoL. :)

Now get some rest please!

What's so bad about the current splash anyways?

Faceroll Tactics2 votes

Most of the legendary skins have highly refined splash arts, with the exception of:

Blood Lord Vladimir Demonblade Tryndamere Brolaf

These all look like they were drawn up in Microsoft Paint, cause these skins are old, and should probably have their splashes fixed to fit the look of the other legendary quality skins that Riot charges the same RP for.

There exists a world where those splashes don't get updated.

Faceroll Tactics1 votes

The only thing wrong with the splashes is that they would fit better with 1080p and color corrected

Any chance I could get a link to one of Vlad's matches? Vlad is one of my faves but I thought the rework gutted him?

Blood Magicks1 votes

Rework just made him less accessible for low elo players, which was the bulk of his previous playerbase. His winrates are something like 46% in bronze but perfectly balanced in plat/dia where the Vlad can plan his health spending and the team can set up for him.

Here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLS-AEX2idI

Hence why I told people to git gud before yelling at Riot.
