Their both champions who utilized forbidden powers slowly eating away at them to defend a lost homeland. Then again, Yorick's full lore isn't out yet so I could be wrong. Just my blunt 2 cents upon first observation.
I feel Yorick's far gone or capable of normalcy, while Varus already surrendered over to the lingering forces following him.
I can sort of see this but to me Varus has all ready gave up fighting the darkness when Yorick has not. Plus Varus is all about his revenge not about saving any one.
I see your point but I do think Varus needs an update in his lore along with the whole Noxus & Demacia conflict. Though I would wait till comes out but I'm more than excited to learn more about the blessed isle before it was corrupt.
