Is the idea of a futuristic Champion still viable with the lore rework?

EDIT: Oops, it was Xypherous I was thinking of, not Ironstylus. My bad.

A while back, Xypherous said he was interested in the idea of a Champion who hails from Runeterra's distant (and potentially apocalyptic) future, but so far all that's been done in that direction is skins (PROJECT Yasuo, PFE, etc.).

With the lore undergoing its retcon, what's to say that this can't work out? Having a character from Runeterra's future who travels back in time to the League era would be pretty cool.

Given that the new lore for the game itself is that there is no lore, they can do whatever they want for champions. I'm personally looking forward to Mr. T, Batman, and Green Power Ranger.

I would not mind having a "future Trunks" type of ordeal. Like maybe hinting at a relationship cause I'm kind of tired of waiting for rito to confirm a couple. The theme that the champion has time traveled to the past for the purpose of stopping some major event from occurring (similar to how ~~Rayquaza's~~ Ao Shin's lore says that he descends down from the sky to stop a feud/war) always provides a plot twist that could hold potential. However, that doesn't stop the possibility of an evil champion from the future that attempts to change the outcome of an event in his or her favor.

It doesn't even need to be a champion imo. With the Shadow Isle teaser for Kalista they made use of unique character as a story teller/element. Not every character that's discussed in lore has to be a champion.

No thanks, there are already enough pretty futuristic champions like Jayce, Vi, Victor etc. This game is getting plagued by futuristic skins all the time already. It doesn't fit the game and is starting to ruin it. Time traveling is also a boring and overused concept.

I wonder if someday in future we have sea champion from Conqueror's Sea... or other places that still doesn't have champion yet...

because from what i read, Fizz and Nami are from Guardian Sea...

From what you said in the OP you compared skins to a champion. a futuristic champion will come i definitely think. however don't think all skins are cannon that whole skins are connected to stuff thing was a long time ago and has such been slightly ignored. so just because there are futuristic skins doesn't mean there isn't gonna be a champ.
