What are the village turned to stone that Nunu refers to?

In Nunu's voice lines he references a village of people turned to stone twice, now the first champ I could think of that can do that is , but she ain't one to suddenly turn people to stone for no reason, plus she has no real reason to be in Freljord, so does anyone have any idea what this could be referring to? Since the only other thing that currently makes sense would be since he still needs a Lore update and this might hint at it, but even then its a long stretch? any idea what this could be about?

My personal theory right now: there is no such village. He is a child dreaming about going on adventures. I think the stuff that he tells while killing the jungle camps (he mentions a guy who told him to kill the raptor to craft something, too) are just made up quests for a game in his head, in which he and Willump are heroes.

Stuff like Gromp being a princess to untoadify just enforced that thought of mine.

I'm assuming that it is just a village that Nunu imagined when playing with Willump. It's kinda similar to our younger self when we imagined ourselves as hero and go save the world. It could also be a reference to quests in MMORPG games when you have to go out to defeat some kinds of monsters to save the village, similar to his interact with many other jungle camps, especially the one with getting 10 raptor beaks to make pancakes (typical MMORPG side quests).

I cant help but wonder if it was lissandras doing. She has a lot of influence in the areas throughout his lore and is very malevolent. I do remember hearing about that village two or three times throughout all of those interactions and lore though and yeah there wasnt a clear explanation so i cant help but think its some teaser or easter egg or something.

There's new lore out today that explores it, though it doesn't say what caused it. It's probably something from the Freljord, like Lissandra or the power of the Watchers

What makes you think Cass wouldn't do it for no reason? Isn't her being turned into a medusa supposed to be a symbol of her crooked character that stabbed sivir, her hired help, in the back for little to no reason?

If it is true and he's not dreaming of it then likely Ornn is responsible. It's probably a side effect of his eight day brawl with Volibear

Although a fight on that scale would be unlikely to leave anything in it's wake intact so the statues should have been smashed to pieces

I noticed this as well. I expected it to be mentioned in some color story, but nothing so far. Malphite and Cass are good ideas, is there anyone else who would do this?

Nunu does have connections with Lissandra, they could be frozen instead of strictly stone? There are also a lot of Demigods in the Freljord, could be someone we haven't heard of. (Crazy, unlikely theory: Malphite Freljord demigod? Probably not, but just a thought) Lots of ideas, but Nunu doesn't give us a lot to go on.
