Zilean main - supremely disappointed w the upcoming Zilean skin

Seriously Riot? It's been almost 4 years since a Zilean skin last came out, and now that we finally get one, its a gag skin?!

Zilean has some of the fewest skins for a champ of his age, most of which are insanely boring, and after a 4 year wait, he's going to get a freaking Candy Crush skin?

Riot please... Give Zilean something cool or at least something that fits his theme. This is just another lazy and boring skin for him.

Really thought that Master Arcanist Zilean leak was legit. Really disappointed that he's instead going to be a flying dollop of whipped cream - wee such a fun fantasy.

Like I'm the first one to criticize riot for the most mundane shit, but there is no real problem with this Zilean skin tbh. You just don't like the sweets thematic, otherwise what we've seen so far is fine.

This is becoming an issue I have noticed. Champions who are picked less and have few/old skins should get more serious skins. We saw this with Ivern too, nobody really enjoyed the basketball thematic because he already has an funny/memey skin. With Zilean they are making a similar mistake where he has very old skins and after a good period of time, years actually, people wish to see a more serious type of a skin. I hope Riot learns from this, not to make memey skins for champions who have not gotten a skin in a long period of time.

PS.: Making it more constructive would definitely help Riot understand where the issue lies.

At least they put the effort into making him look good and fit the theme. In terms of quality, this is far superior to Dunkmaster Ivern, which was basically just Ivern and Daisy in sports gear. Fuck, they even said they were delaying the release of Zilean's skin so that they actually made it a quality product instead of half-assing it like they did for Ivern.

Also, Sugar Rush isn't a new thing. This skinline has been a thing for a long time, and its far from being cute and innocent. Candy King Ivern is a cannibal, Dark Candy Fiddlesticks is just evil, Bittersweet Lulu and (old) Lollipoppy are terrifying on their own without any lore, and Evelynn impales and eats 2 sentient gingerbread men in her recall. Just because something looks cute doesn't mean that it is. The Sugar Rush universe is just as fucked up and edgy as any "serious" skin line.

I honestly don't see your problem. First of all: The skin looks pretty good, its honestly a miracle that they were able to make it this good looking with such an old model, it is by no means lazy.

And honestly goofy skins are easier to pull off than non-goofy skins on an old model, so it makes sense that he'd get a goofy one(besides the last skin was serious). Not to mention that in his regular skin line up he has 2 serious skins and 1 goofy one(and said goofy one is probably one of the worst skins that are not in the vault), so this one is pretty much the only viable choice for anyone that wants a goofy looking Zilean skin.

People honestly need to stop treating goofy skins as inherently inferior to serious ones.

I honestly feel bad for the mains whenever this happens. Ivern got a bit shafted as well with the goofy basketball skin. My biggest fear is whenever Riot finally makes a Taliyah skin, after years of waiting, that it will end up something like this.

Popular cash cow champions always get the slots for the big skin releases whilst the unpopular champions get the underwhelming leftovers. It makes sense from a business perspective but it still feels bad.

This is nowhere near the levels of Dunkmaster Ivern bad. I think you're overreacting a bit.

Out of all the skins they're releasing next content patch, Dawnbringer/Nightbringer included, I think this one's the best. I'm surprised they even animated a model as ancient as Zilean's that well to begin with. He always seemed a little goofy to me to begin with, what with his "I knew you would do that" line, his eternal feud with Volibear, etc.

I knew the zilean skin was gonna be a bit of a let down when they released TD Ekko. Do you all remember when Ekko was released and Riot heavily hinted at a "back to the future" style skin for our two favorite Chronomancers? Hell I'm surprised they haven't done a Rick and Morty spoof for them. With how infrequently the Zilster gets skins I'm saddened to say we may never see this skin line realized.
