Is Riot not removing the IoW and summoners?
I recently made a new account and with it came a standard welcome email.

Is Riot not removing the IoW? I'm confused.

They're removing the IoW from the lore, and therefore the connection between Runeterra and the game, that's all. We're still summoners in-game, they just forgot to remove the 'in Valoran' part of the mail... And don't worry, the core of the characters will be intact after the retcons too. Just don't mind Trundle. Or Xerath. Maybe one or two others.
Yep, no faith in the new lore from me, I miss Trundle :/
It's just an outdated email form. It even seems to be directing you to the New Player Forum, which no longer exists.
It's Riot.
They said they were doing away with all that and they will, it'll just take them a few years before they actually get around to it. Like most everything they do.
The different departments do not communicate with each other.
nothing is changed in-game so technically in-game you're still a summoner who summons champions and they all fight on the fields of justice in lore however.......
While it's more than likely an outdated email as others have said, I'm not sure all of Riot even knows the retcon happened.
what if summoners are real but they just make copies of people now and do these fights on a magical field underground thats based off of places in runterra?
