@Riot: How often will you be introducing non-Champion characters into the story?

You can't have only playable characters as your cast. There needs to be outside characters who are in the background, are fairly important, but either can't fight or don't qualify as Champion material.

For instance: a merchant like... http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130509153335/fireemblem/images/3/3f/Anna_FE13_Artwork.png
XD (Fire Emblem Awakening is such an awesome game.)

Said peddler/merchant could be a friend of Sivir's who buys most of the valuables and such that the Battle Mistress finds on her excursions. But if you asked her to fight in a League match? "No way!"

Or perhaps a nun/priest in Demacia who, obviously, does no fighting, but provides spiritual support and guidance to characters like Vayne, Lucian, Lux, etc.

Seeing characters like this occasionally in the lore would reduce the whole "Smash Bros." feel of the story and actually add some life into Runeterra.

I'm going to assume that you haven't played any other Fire Emblem games.

Marcus Du Couteau was fairly important lore wise, as were the Darkwills. Boram Darkwill was Grand General and it's safe to assume that his son was an important member of the High Command as well. Marcus was a General and an ally of Boram.

Well this year they thus far have added a couple of side characters here and there:

Heimerdinger's new assistant

Petal and Thorn from the Black Rose

Investigative Officer Rol P. from Twitch's character piece, along with Valori Olant and Ra Qintava, whom he interviewed

These may not exactly be main characters or anything, but they do exist, and have some significance. I'd personally really dig some cool secondary characters who aren't champions, but still have some story significance even if it's not nearly as much as the champions, but it all depends. And hey, these are characters who could later become champions if the circumstances are right.

I've played two Fire emblem games.

Awakening

and the second one for wii (Radiant dawn?)

I like awakening more, simply because I didn't fall for the noob trap this time.

I think Riot should make a Strategie game like Fire emblem would be so sweet. And they could take the league champ and some other for there character and the character that are the most popular could become champ in league that would be AWSOME ...

Sorry for the bad english

Awesome idea. Non-champion characters like Boram Darkwill and King Jarvan III contribute a lot to lore, would be cool if Riot added some others
