If the Darkin are living weapons
Then I bet
wants
to be his host and Demonblade Tryndamere is the result of Aatrox taking over trynda. Just my two cents on the matter.

Veeeeeery sure just because we have some darkin acting like a weapon for one champion, it does not mean that 'all' Darkin in general (especially if they have free will), are going to want to become weapons to 'strong possible vessels', I mean we only got 1 and a half champions that are 'technically' darkin currently? Kind of a very limited pool to draw from unless they made some actual lore up, but i don't think that is going to change the statement to begin with.
At least with the 'Vastaya' it applied to 'many' characters in general and is not just limited to
and
and basically generalizes it down to various types of magical 'races' that 'breath' magic like air and with it being disrupted or 'bound' from its free/wild state ends up ruining it and puts Vastaya in a situation similar to a plain old human climbing a ridiculously high mountain, access to barely any 'air' and could lead to them in a dangerous situation as a result.

It's implied in Rhaast's lines (as i recall anyway) that he was once alive, but is now in the form of a scythe that eventually takes over Kayn's body.
That would seem to suggest that Darkin function similarly to Sauron and the One Ring: Rhaast had a physical body, and that was destroyed at some point (probably by another Darkin, let's be honest - I'd say Aatrox but he seemed too cordial for that). However, his life force was also tied to the weapon he wielded (I'm assuming Darkin corrupt all they touch) and so he survived. Aatrox's weapon is also capable of changing, shifting and growing, which suggests that this power to put your life force into your weapon is something Darkin just do.
Perhaps the corruption we now see Rhaast exerting on Kayn is similar to how Rhaast/Aatrox takes over a weapon to improve it for their personal use? Considering Rhaast sees Kayn as yet another tool, it seems likely.
