Should the Invictus splash arts be done by a new artist?
They are unoriginal and look the same.
Same background, same face, same pattern on the chest area.

Almost like they are supposed to be a team wearing a uniform

I don't think it needs to be redone, its still a solid splash but just need tweaks to the faces
Sameface is real, but it's gonna end up like that
Don't bring splash artists into a fight that ins't their fault. Most character/skin designs are done by a completely different person and the actual in game models done by yet another person. Then the splash artist is given character model reference to work from for the splash art. So it really comes down to how the initial concepts were designed.
Perhaps they were designed like that for a reason, being on the same winning team, being similar as so one champion design does not overshadow another in appearance, solidifying their unity as one team.
As someone that does art for marketing, you would also be surprised how much of what you create is the direction of other people. Bet this dude had people in his ear the whole time telling him to make sure to include certain things, etc. Probably didn't have the bandwidth (resources/time) to spend on a background so who cares if they are all the same on the loading banner, it's better than just clumping all the champs super close and only being able to crop in a portion for the loading screen banner (which is super lazy and something Riot has normally always done with multi skin splashes).
Telling someone you think all Van Gogh paintings look alike, doesn't make Van Gogh paintings bad. Nor does it make them necessarily good. Art is subjective. Are you allowed to think the IG characters all look the same, yes. Does it make that statement factual? Partially. Does it automatically warrant a discredit of the artist? No. (Same could be said for Bob Ross, all his trees look the same, but he's a GOAT.)
