Honestly, why won't shurimans just give Azir a chance?

The guy is just trying to to make Shurima a lively place again. Idk if it's youthful ignorance that is Taliyah, but All shurimans don't act negative towards Azir do they?

Seriously though, Azir pretty much thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, (do they have sliced bread in runterra?)

He doesn't seem to have fostered much love from his people, seeing as out of the three other ascended, one betrayed him and the other two don't respect him at all.

Not to mention his previous single minded pursuit of power pretty much single handedly brought a continent spanning empire to it's knees.

Hitler was neither a fascist, nor a monarch. And while Azir is an Emperor, but he was a benevolent dictator, not a fascist. Azir cared about his people and wished only the best for ALL under his watch,which included the people he had taken over, whereas Hitler only cared about the Aryan race and killing the Jews.

And as for the ascended, one was a slave he had recently set free, who was resentful of him, and the other two were ancient, god-like beings that were looking at a emperor, who was but a young man, who dared to think he was worthy of the ascension(which by the way, was suggested by Xerath). So why would they respect him? He was but a bug to them.

Only due to him being betrayed. If he hadn't been betrayed the ascension would of went off without a hitch and he would've used his power to make the Sherman's(and all lands taken over) prosper.

So no, I don't see the comparison either. Hitler went for power for himself, Azir went for it to better protect his country and people.(no more fighting wars for them, what with the very land fighting for Sharima)

If i lived in a place that is constantly attacked by giant monsters from another dimension and people can barely survive because we are super poor in comparison with the rest of the world?

Shurima is essentially poor due to the culture but its normal. Nomadic groups will always be poor in comparison to civilizations with settlements due to the nature of their societies, but that doesn't mean that aren't fine with it.

And if they're fine with it then having someone tell them they're not fine with it makes them kinda dislike that person.

I see your point, but just because they think that hey are ok with risking their lives for food, it doesnt mean that it is good. Azir offers a solution to their problems but Taliyah doesn't want it because of false accusations.

What is "liberty"?

People follow the rules of our society for security... if you trully wanted to be free, you should go and try to live alone in a jungle, hunting your own food... but you dont, you (or your family) have a job in order to buy your food in a market, with safety.

Because the only thing telling them Azir is any good is Azir's own word, and the history of Shurima points to it being a grand empire built on slavery. There's probably some Shurimans who'd give him a chance, but the likelihood of most of them even considering the possibility is very, very low.

Missing information obviously. No matter how great Shurima was, it's views and tales were probably twisted over time (if they already weren't bad) to the point where people could see it as a boogeyman tale.

Winners and survivors write history. Azir didn't really survive the fall, he was just resurrected.

More on this. No one knows Azir was probably a decent guy. No one knows that Xerath was the one that really messed everything up. All anyone would know is Azir is the guy that blew up Shurima. If they heard of him at all.

Then there's also probably a bunch of political powers that popped up that don't want to just give their prominence over to some guy that came out of nowhere that has no idea of the current political realities of the world.

You literally only know the reaction of a handful of dudes on the other side of the world and all they heard was "Yo, niggu, I've heard some psycho emperor was resurrected across the world after two thousands of years."
