[EDIT: bad link, the pic isn't readable. Try this one: http://am-a.akamaihd.net/image?f=http://universe.leagueoflegends.com/images/path-to-en_us.jpg&resize=1400: ]

A new teaser just came out about the next new champion: Ornn, the Mountain-Smith.

It's a beautiful song in Ancient Freljordian, with a picture of a scroll with the lyrics in English. But what interests me more is that we can see a few words from the pages behind the lyrics. What do y'all make of it?

There is a mentions of "Three S...", which should obviously be the Three Sisters Lissandra, Avarossa and what's-her-name, the old leaders from the three Freljord factions.

They, or maybe just one of them, apparently made a contract with Ornn, and a Bridge is mentioned. Given that the song also mentions the Howling Abyss, it seems reasonable to think that Ornn created the Bridge above the Howling Abyss, but for what reason? That isn't clear yet.

This reminds me of a lot of old Norse myths, I'm super excited.

Other noteworthy tidbits:

  • Apparently Ornn leaked some knowledge he shouldn't have to "they". Still the three sisters? Or maybe "they" as "the people in one of the factions"?
  • After that, he went East, across the Great Sea? To Ionia? I need a cartographer!
  • We have half a word, "Mer-K...". I've no idea of what it could be. Anyone knows a word starting with those letters?
  • We have a mention of "sea-bottom" and of using something to "rule his kingdom". I don't think it's talking about Ornn's Kingdom here, so I'd guess that something happened to Ornn during his travel, and one of his belongings has been distorted from his original purpose. Maybe by another tribe of under-water Vastaya?

Keep at it people, let's speculate ^^

P.S.: and sorry, I can't resist, but I was right :p https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/xuGbZzpf-next-champion-is-a-blacksmith-i-called-it-first-p

The Mountain-Smith is not Ornn's final title.

I hope you get to read those pages soon...

Eh. Screw teasing. You will be able to read those pages soon.

You should read some other threads relating to this. Some of you guys can put your theories together and be close.

This reminds me of a lot of old Norse myths, I'm super excited.

Thanks! I love old Norse myths and read through some during the creation process. I'm really excited for you to experience Ornn. I hope we don't let you down :)

I love the speculation. There are shreds of truth here.

You did. We circulated that thread internally and giggled a lot.

I don't want to imply super tight connections (League doesn't do those much since it makes the world smaller) but there is the Mer-kind and the moonstone that Nami is looking for to keep whatever is down there down.

I don't think they'd make a second tribe that similar.

Honestly, I kinda hope they're going to push the limits a bit in regards to character model to properly convey his size. I would love for him to contest in size to at least a partially stacked Cho, I think that'd look super awesome. Especially next to Galio (who I also wish would've been slightly bigger but maybe not because he has wings lol.)

Maybe he's somehow related to this figure in the video; Pentakill: Mortal Reminder| Pause at 1:38

Mountain smith? Check this out: Mountain smith?| Pause at 1:35

Any thoughts?

He's going to be yet another generic viking champion like sejuanni, tryndamere, olaf. Probably the typical cc tank. Not to be so negative, just not a fan of what is typically classified as "vanguard" nor am I fan of freljord champion's aesthetic. He's going to be a smith, right? i'd imagine him using some sort of a hammer like blacksmith poppy.

Hi, I checked out the polish version of the teaser, couldn't really catch much, but what I got:

Top left I had never {...} me by my granmother [...] previous [...]

Bottom right: When he eventually got tired, Ornn [...] The land [...] answered him with fire, opening [...] part [...] <cut word but propably "giving'> the first among the gods his own <cut word but propably "flaming"/"fiery"> [...]

It's a rough translation so it might not be perfectly accurate.

DeathBurs7, Sweet to see your next bit on this champ. I was wondering, I have a bit of a theory on this champ, and I was wondering if I could cite some of your speculations in it. As always, great job! Another question, is there a large clear version of this picture? I'd like to take a crack at reading it too, but I can't seem to find on that isn't blurry.

I think it's the editor's notes about everything wrong with it.

What if the under water vastaya artifact is the tide caller staff that nami wields since it has been affected by the void
