@riot how different would the ionian invasion have been if Swain would have been assisting?
Anyone else wonder how different the invasion would have been if Swain had been there to help?

Context please? Is there a link to stories about the Ionian Invasion that you could share?
My guess would be that they might rewrite what happens during the invasion of Ionia. After looking at the Ionian universe page, it looks like they took Ionia back to when Noxus had them occupied, but before they got their freedom. If this is the case then Swain may have been retconned to planned the invasion himself cause he learned of the Vastaya and wanted to harness their power for himself. He would have likely then captured a few and did experiments on them so he could gain their powers, thus Rakans interaction with him. As to why Noxus would want their powers, it could be that the magic in them works differently then the kind of magic that is used by the rest of the world and is somehow immune to the anti-magic effects of petricite, making Ionia very valuable to Noxus in their fight against Demacia. Otherwise Galio would pretty much be able to kill a Vastayan just by being near them and absorbing the magic in them, making Swain a bit silly to put in charge of fighting an entire country that prides themselves in anti-magic. But of course all that is just theory right now :p
