I can't really see anything that was wrong with Fiora's old outfit, unless it was a "clashes with League's new lore direction" thing, but why couldn't her old bodysuit and boobplate survive in some shape or form?

I do too. I didn't understand why they bother giving her a VU when she didn't really need one in the first place. I understand her gameplay needs a makeover but her visual? Come on, really? It's a fantasy game.

I dunno, boob-plates are stupid aesthetically and functionally. I mean, the last thing you want as a fencer is an armor design that directly guides an opponent's weapon into your sternum. Boob-plates do nothing but get you killed. Hell, she'd be better off wearing pretty much nothing over wearing that atrocity.
The body-suit though was pretty damn good aesthetically, and makes a bit more sense in terms of attire. And I will say I preferred the black-blue over the white.
Removing the boob-plate doesn't bother me as much, but I do like the overall color scheme. Dark blue, gold, with some white to accentuate. A red streak in her hair (that for some reason is pink now? I don't get it) and dat hairstyle.
Also, that sheath is godlike.
