In the recent comic, she states that tries to stay away from "romance". But in her biography in the universe page, we can read this: "Gangplank was still too powerful to confront openly, so Miss Fortune spent the years wisely, surrounding herself with a small but loyal cadre of allies and lovers she would eventually use to lay her demons to rest."

That made me think of this as a little inconsistence in the comic. Well, at least a little one of others. But then I thought of asking: How do you imagine Miss Fortune? As someone that is a player with the opposite genre as much as any typical male protagonist in this kind of stories and universes, or as someone that only uses her feminine charms to lure men into doing her biding, because then she stays away from sexual intercourse to fixate more on her job?

Personally, because of how sexualized her model in game is, and her lines of interaction, I can't but think of her as one of those liberated women that really enjoy sex, and goes after every handsome man she likes.

Or hell, maybe I'm over thinking. Maybe that line was refering to that she prefered to avoid long term relationships. But seeing the contest of the scene, I really doubt that.

What is your opinion on that? Do you think she enjoys sex as mucha as she can, or that she only uses her cleavage as a tool to get what she wants from stupid men?

Edit: I know one can want to have sex and not a relationship. I don't think her character is for long relationships either. But in the context of her dinner with Harker, even using the word romance, I understand that as a reference to continuous casual sex encounters than a relationship in the classic sense of the word.

Edit2: To clarify further: when I say I think of her as player, I mean that tome she feels like the female version of characters like Captain Kirk, James Bond or Conan the Barbarian. Guys with "Girls of the week" kind of relationships. In her case, "Boy of the week". Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.

you over thought it. MF needed revenge and the easiest people to control are the ones you've got wrapped around your finger. Lover's beat fickle loyalty any day of the week so she roped them in as needed in order to amass the body count she needed to win. simple as that.

"Lovers" implies romantic involvement, it does not imply depth or seriousness. She pulled them in however she needed to and that was that. all business case closed.

First part I agree with, second I do not. I don't view MF as a slut - and tbh nothing wrong with being a slut as long as it's safe sex & not spreading disease etc - but MF however I do not view as such.

MF is an incredibly strong woman who is intelligent and beautiful. I think it's more so all the men want her and she can choose whoever she wants. And with this power, I am also sure she used some men. But it's kinda like what people say, you're always paying for sex, just not necessarily with money and those men paid with their loyalty and information while many men pay with marriage and what goes with marriage/relationship etc.

It also could not mean "lovers" as in the sexual sense only. But legitimate lovers. Doesn't mean they had a "relationship" that is labeled as girlfriend/boyfriend but that doesn't disqualify two people being lovers. But I honestly wouldn't doubt that Raffen and MF were lovers at one point in this sense and it's one of the reasons he is so loyal to her.

You must also remember this is Bilgewater where multiple lovers is pretty chill, i.e Illaoi.

I don't think MF wants a real relationship until she has more stability in her life. So why not have some fun until that time comes?

I don't get involved with lores, so I have no concerns of describing Miss Fortune or whatever.

People can have casual sexual activities without being involved in a relationships. I think MF is too addicted, or for those that thinks you cannot be addicted to sexual pleasure, MF has a lot of lust so she only wants sexual pleasure to relieve her tensions (in reality, you have to stop sexually pleasing yourself to stop those tensions from coming back so often). I assume Miss Fortune does not want a relationship, or has no times for a superficial relationship that has its roots on lust.

Romance is affiliated with love, not lust.

This is a simple case of incosistent writing.

'I don't like using romance' would have been much more fitting. She also has a lot of experience dealing with guys like that and I don't think she got it from books.

To be honest, 3 of the most 'slutty' girls got a lot 'deeper' lately: -Miss Fortune is an avenger that uses everything, romance included, as a weapon. -Ahri is a recovered essence adict, her magical charm is just a spell. -Eve is a demon, she basically has a sexy form for luring prey.

Funny enough the sluttiest woman is League might actually be Illaoi, as unlike the other 3 she does is for fun.

I'm going to offer a possible explanation for the comic based on my experience with other lore fandoms.

Generally speaking, as lore expands, inconsistencies pop up more and more. It's not uncommon for there to be plot holes, loop holes, or straight-up retcons as lore expands. It's just what happens because more and more writers/authors/artists get their hands on it and add something that contradicts something previously. It's happened in Warcraft, Starcraft, Warhammer 40k fandoms as I've followed them.

So to me, seeing this, it seems more likely the person who wrote Miss Fortune's bio wrote that line, didn't think too much of it, and got left in.

The person who wrote the comic thought, "man, we need a snazzy line to show how MF dismisses romance/relationships," and threw that line in there as well.

So now you have two contradicting pieces of lore (unless there's a semantic issue I'll get into in a bit).

The big problem I see with this is that we have to (or at least should) treat Bio lore as pretty much First-Tier Canon. The idea is that because the bio is official and the most public info on MF, this is THE most canon thing we have on her. It's based on Star Wars and its Expanded Universe where the films hold supremacy in canon over anything the expanded universe novels, comic, etc and throw.

But then the comic, which is written in MF's first person POV, directly contradicts this. This isn't second hand rumor or gossip either, this is MF's internal thoughts on romance.

Now, the canon and what's true or not can be handled in really cool and interesting ways like GoT has different characters with different opinions on other characters or how in Talon of Horus the Chaos Space Marines view the Loyalists and each others differently than what the vast majority of the Imperium thinks they view each other as.

But this... because League has so precious little lore to begin with (compared to other major fandoms), any contradiction is magnified because it begs the question, "how did editors, lore writers on this let it pass up?" For other fandoms, there's the excuse of size and sheer volume (LoL doesn't have a literal Black Library of 30+ novels and anthologies covering the Horus Heresy or Warcraft's endless supplementary novels).

Of course, the other explanation is that MF doesn't view her 'lovers' as 'romance' which is a hella weird definition to go by. Lovers implies that these are long-term relationships that, well, involve 'love' or at least a romantic relationship.

tldr - Riot forgot they wrote MF's bio, and didn't fix the writer's mistake in the comic or clarified it.

IN THE GAME: generic slut for horny teen players. IN THIS STORY/IN HER SUPPOSED LORE: a liberated woman.

Keep in mind, dear boy, that "liberated woman" does not necessarily mean a woman who bangs dudes left and right, unlike what you seem to imply.

As a sidenote, this forum is fixating waaaay too much on sex since Evelynn's announcement. I feel like I'm in the forum board of a Japanese dating sim. It's just awkward that you guys are here sharing your sexual fantasy about these videogame characters.

I like to think she's just so confident that she kinda flings around withough growing too connected. We don't really have any women in League that are "players" like that, and we definetly have too Ahri many Elise succubus-types Evelynn

Personally I see her as someone who only uses her cleavage to get her own desires. I doubt she has much focus on sex or pleasures.

I think she uses sex to get what she wants. Granted in canon, we do know she thinks Lucian is super hot and she wanted to bang him. Of course, that is also because in the context of Bilgewater, Lucian is super op in a fight.
