I really enjoyed the Bilgewater story, and the Jax/Fiora tease. WW Kinda got one, but not mentioned by name. I think it would be really something to clarify on the Cough Cough vaguer relationships In the League.

I just hope that not every champ gets paired with another champ. it kinda makes the world smaller if they did.

I'd be fine with a champ being paired with someone who's not a champ, as that's realistic, but I just don't want everything to be roses and romance.

Vi x Caitlyn: Perfect (and likely to happen, imo)

Lux x Ez: makes little sense (to me, I know others hate me for feeling that way), and Ez doesn't seem emotionally mature enough to be in a relationship, at least to me.

I don't really have an opinion on Vi and Cait, but I can think of a certain champion that could pair well with Ezreal in a way that offers room for both of them to grow as characters and actually have him develop some of that emotional maturity.

Personally, and this isn't me talking about specific stories or content, I think it will be as much as you'd expect in any story. If the focus is on those elements, because we think that's important to the character and story, they'lll be there.

For some Champs, it's central: Lucian and Senna, or Jax and his lamp, but for others it will depend on whether it's an important part of the story that makes sense for them and the overall progression of the world.

That's a great approach I think. It's only a detriment to the story to shoehorn things in.

Although, speaking of which, I found parts of Shyvanna's story a bit hard to swallow;

"Occasionally, her dragonfyre activated the runic echo within her (...)".

Inserting too much "Mystic Babble" takes me out of the story a bit, honestly. Otherwise it was good, that's the one part I'd critique, though.

So do you guys try to leave relationships open ended, or ambiguous, or anything for the sake of community shipping? The only real "really confirmed no two ways about it" relationship League has as far as I'm aware is Ashe and Tryndamere, even with champions and non-champions.

We have done that, yes. And we pay attention to some of the more popular ships, though we can't really plan ahead with them too much in mind. But if there's something we're writing and we're not planning on doing anything with a pair in the near-term, and we know it's something the community talks about, we'll be purposeful in not closing that loop.

Although, I think it was a strange decisions to outright kill off the popular Lux/Ezreal ship, especially considering it has ACTUALLY been referenced overtly by Riot themselves for years and years ("An ancient mystery in Runeterra", for example).

To be clear, I'm talking about her Ezreal-specific taunt:

"Are we supposed to be... dating... or something? We've never even talked."

Seems like it's meant to overtly kill the ship. Or am I reading too much into it?

Nope, that won't happen. Not everyone will be paired up at all (Nocturne and <INSERT HORROR HERE> sitting in a tree...>.

Many of them won't be paired up with Champs, some will be paired up with non-Champ characters.

Others will die a lonely death, surrounded by nothing but their regret of not asking Rachel out when they had the chance back in high school, facing the last moments of a darkening consciousness, instinctively aware that nothing, nothing can ever make their life matter now, all because of a solitary, fleeting hesitation.

Speaking of Mordekaiser,wouldn't it actually make sense for him to have children? I mean he once ruled over a large part of Runeterra,so it wouldn't be surprising if he had a few mistresses(kinda like Azirs harem). Of course any children he would have would likely end up as his pawns or enemies(and would be either dead or undead at this point),but I think it would be interesting to see someone who had to grow up under Mordes "care".

You can, it just depends on the character. Katarina didn't have much to do with Garen becoming who he is right now. However, Lux, and Jarvan were important.

Does that mean that it can still be a thing, it's just that it isn't even remotely important right now so it wasn't relevant to the story? Or does it mean you guys aren't really concerned with who Garen wants to be with, if anybody?

Either is fine, I'm just wondering since Tahm Kench and Aurleion Sol and Lux's really new VO says stuff about it. So it seems weird to completely remove it. Unless it's one of those cases where lore v game is just totally different?
